Blueface and DJ Akademiks have been embroiled in a heated back-and-forth with one another on social media this week.

The beef between the pair appears to have started on Thursday (January 12), when the “Thotianna,” rapper tweeted: “I got way more money then ak why he playing like this.”

His tweet came days after Akademiks tweeted a viral video from an episode of Blueface and his girlfriend Chrisean Rock’s Zeus Network reality show, in which Rock hit him in the head with a Hennessy bottle.

The following day, Blueface appeared to claim no harm or foul, saying he had no real beef with the Off The Record podcast host who he said he uses for promotion.

“I got no beef with ak guys I just use him for promo at this point if he tell y’all what I got going on I don’t have to say much just respond to him every once Ina while an he gone do his job for me for free [speaking emoji]…W promo,” Blueface tweeted.

DJ Akademiks followed up by claiming he supports Blueface while further instigating the situation as he suggested music should be the West Coast rapper’s focus in a tweet directed to him.

“I fw and love Blueface … I want him not to be in abusive relationship and I don’t want his career and reputation ruined. I want him back focused on rap,” Akademiks tweeted.

However, things took a sharp turn left after Blueface seemingly saw Akademiks’ tweet and called him out on his “fake love” while also reminding him he has become a multi-hyphenate entertainer, in the process.

“Im the EP of my docu-series,” Blueface wrote in one tweet before adding in another: “Ak I’m bigger then rap I’m past rap stop tryna keep me Ina box cuz yo rap career ain’t take off.”

In another follow-up tweet, Blueface added: “I son ak an let him know he a pawn on my chest board now it’s fake care an love I’m to good at the mind games [crying laughing face emoji] thin line between love an hate [blue heart emoji].”

DJ Akademiks then began to troll Blueface, calling him his “SON,” while tweeting a photo of one of the rapper’s recent head tattoos, which caught the attention of 6ix9ine, who seemingly claimed Blueface was in debt.

“Please y’all go watch my SON Blueface get knocked out on camera by his girl on her reality show .. so that he can get a lil paycheck to pay his mortgage and finance that cheap ass C8. We don’t want him getting no more tattoos of JEWELERS on the side of his head,” Akademiks wrote in his quoted reply to Blueface.

On Saturday (January 14), after firing off several additional tweets directed at DJ Akademiks, Blueface posted screenshots of his and Akademiks’ respective Spotify monthly listeners and proceeded to scold the 31-year-old content creator for attempting to give advice on how to be a successful artist.

“Ak please stop talking about people music career clearly you don’t have the answers you failed at rap,” Blueface tweeted.

Akademiks swiftly replied to Blueface’s jab by further affirming his support for the Los Angeles native while also challenging him to do better.

“Good morning Blue. Lol just do better bruh. That’s all. I’m rooting for you,” Ak wrote. “U better than being a stand in stunt double for domestic abuse on a reality show on Zeus. Sorry if I want better for u than u want ur self. That $4.99 subscription shouldn’t have u compromising character.”

This isn’t the first time DJ Akademiks has been a part of a heated exchange with an artist on social media.

In February last year, ahead of Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez shooting trial,Ak and Meg traded shots and scathing remarks on both Twitter and Instagram.
