Digable Planets has announced a reunion tour, according to Brooklyn Vegan.
Camp Lo is set to be the opening act on the tour, which is scheduled to kick off in earnest July 18 at the Woodward Theater in Cincinnati after the group appears at the Sasquatch, Essence and Pitchfork Festivals.
Butterfly, Ladybug Mecca and Doodlebug released two acclaimed studio albums, 1993’s Reachin’ (A New Refutation Of Time And Space) and 1994’s Blowout Comb, and broke up in 1995.
The group is best known for its jazz-influenced “Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)” single, which Rick Rock has sampled on songs for Snoop Dogg and E-40.
Both Reachin’ (A New Refutation Of Time And Space) and “Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)” were certified gold in 1993.
Digable Planets reunited for a New Year’s Eve show in Seattle.
Digable Planets’ reunion tour itinerary is as follows:
5/28 Sasquatch Festival – George, WA

Some people are just not meant to be together. Unfortunately, they are not.
If it happens, dope!
I’ve been burned by these assholes two times already. I even remember everyone walking out of Brooklyn Bowl because Doodlebug showed up with a bunch of whack ass musicians doing DP songs without Butterfly and Ladybug… A reunion WILL NOT happen for Digable Planets. It just can’t work… Don’t waste your money, they’ll cancel the day before like they did in 2008
