De La Soul Added To Nas & Wu-Tang Clan’s N.Y. State Of Mind Tour

De La Soul have just announced that they’re hitting the road with Nas and Wu-Tang Clan, joining their fellow New Yorkers for the next leg of their N.Y. State of Mind tour.

On Thursday (April 13), De La frontman Posdnuos took to Instagram to make the announcement.

“A day before Dave’s bday we start this!! New York State of Mind tour!@wutangclan @nas @wearedelasoul. Get your tickets! #delasoul #wutang #nas,” he wrote in the caption of the post, which also included an updated flier announcing the lineup update.

The updated flier was also posted on the official De La Soul Instagram page on the same day.

The announcement garnered excitement from both fans and fellow artists, with rapper Sheek Louch was one of the first to comment, remarking “FYAH [three fire emojis]” on Plug Won’s post.

Journalist Cheo Hodari Coker also commented on Plug Won’s page, revealing that he’d be checking out the tour in Vancouver, Portland, and Seattle. Even the official Amazon Music page got in on the excitement, dropping three fire emojis on the official De La Soul Instagram page.

The N.Y State of Mind tour has proven wildly successful for Nas and Wu-Tang Clan. The first leg of the tour was filled with surprising moments, such as LL COOL J, Jadakiss and Mary J. Blige popping out at the stop in Los Angeles.

LL took to Instagram along with his Rock The Bells page showing behind-the-scenes footage of the concert and the action going down on stage, such as him performing his verse from the single “4,3,2,1” which features Method Man and Redman, as well as Canibus and the late DMX.

Mary J. Blige showed up to perform the 1995 Grammy Award-winning single “All I Need” with Method Man, while Jadakiss reportedly popped up during Nas’ set.

With such amazing special guests, it’s no wonder that the announcement of the second leg of the tour — which came in February — generated just as much fanfare.

The second leg of the N.Y. State of Mind tour kicks off on May 9 at the Spark Arena in Auckland, NZ, and concludes on October 22 at the Yaamava Theater in Highland, CA. Tickets are now available through Ticketmaster.
