Three years after Tyra Banks asked Dave East why wasn’t a male model, the Harlem-bred rapper took a stab at the gig. The Def Jam artist tried out modeling at the 2020 New York Fashion Week on Tuesday (February 11).
East hit the runway as part of a fashion show for designer Hakan Akkaya. The Wu-Tang: An American Saga star posted a couple of pictures from his modeling foray via Instagram, eliciting some funny reactions to the boots he was wearing.
“Big Stepper @hakanakkaya (The Comments Bout The [boots emoji] Got Me [crying laughing emoji]),” he wrote in one caption.
While East’s photos gave a brief glimpse at his venture into modeling, Girls Talk Sports TV’s Khristina Williams captured a video of East’s stroll down the catwalk. The clip showed off his first runway walk, which he appeared to handle well.

Slow news day
Please don’t come back to rap…
I swear these rappers are hidden homosexuals givin up their ass to get some kind of endorsement from the fashion industry or any questionable environment where being gay and effeminate are the minium standards to be regarded. Tupac set the blueprint and many rappers followed like asap rocky, drake and now Dave East to name a few. FOH!
Lol they got apparent gangsta niggas out here in “fuck me boots”…..
He’s no gangsta tho…2014-2015 he was just street nigga from NY trying to get on…no gang gang, face tats, monotone flow or any of that.
