DaBaby has seemingly responded to people making fun of him after a “buy one, get one free” ticket offer for one of his shows went viral.
Ahead of his show in Birmingham, Alabama on November 15, various Twitter users pointed out the BOGOF offer for general admission tickets.
The tickets are listed at $22 with a $5.92 fee, with two tickets available for the price of one. The concert is set to take place at Iron City, which has a capacity of 1,300.
Early Tuesday morning (November 8), DaBaby appeared to react to the tweets on his Instagram Stories, where he had some words for those who think he’s “lost it.”
“They think I lost it, n-gga,” he said in the clip, which was filmed after his show in Boston. “Me and Boston just went stupid in this bitch. We just went so stupid. They think I lost it. Boston, they think I lost it.”
He also posted footage from the Beantown show, writing in the caption: “STOP IT. Tell em how we rocking Boston.”
The “buy one, get one free” offer comes after a DaBaby concert was reportedly canceled due to low ticket sales. The show, which was set to take place at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center on September 2, was axed after less than 500 tickets were sold for the 14,000-seater arena.
One of the show’s promoters, Greg Pulver, cited “business reasons” behind the cancelation, describing it as a “postponement” while working on putting together a replacement show that would possibly feature other artists on the lineup.
But the CEO of the booking agency representing DaBaby claimed the rapper’s representatives pulled the plug on the concert after the promoters didn’t fulfill the terms of their contract.
“DaBaby’s New Orleans show was pulled by the artist’s team due to the promoter being in breach of contract,” MAC Agency founder Andrew Lieber said. “DaBaby will be back in New Orleans very soon to make it up to his fans.”
Lieber also claimed more tickets had been sold than what was shown on the Ticketmaster listing and disputed low ticket sales were behind the cancelation.
During his appearance on the Full Send Podcast in July, DaBaby claimed he was charging up to $200,000 for club appearances.
“Oh man, it varies, you know? Sometimes I get $200K,” he said at the time. “I always overplay it though. … If they’re giving you that type of bag that means it’s love. It means you’ve got that type of draw in that club.”
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If DaBaby can slash ticket prices and turn the arena into a mosh pit, more power to him. I never paid for a concert because I consider it a form of simping, like borderline mass worship. I just enjoy listening to the music, without feeling the need to put someone on a pedastool. So in my mind, low ticket sales and crappy music arent necessarily tied together.
You’ve never seen a concert? Wow, you’re missing out. Most rapper’s can’t perform for shit, but there are plenty of great performers in all genres. I definitely recommend watching videos of artist’s live performance before paying to see them, but you gotta see someone. Yeah some people get too obsessed with whoever is on stage, but weirdos gonna be weirdos regardless if they’re at a show or online.
Dababy isn’t struggling, he has been on fire for so long. Now he has found a more humble situation. Besides I haven’t heard anyone that can touch him or lil baby.. I’ve always thought that mother fucker’s would be thankful to have a a few great rappers that is good live. Like lil baby, Dababy and lil Boosie.
Lmao the little midget is struggling.
The fans are probably tired of getting punched at his shows.
DaBaby, come to Providence or Boston we will sell it out! We keep it true school.
