DaApology: Fans React Mercilessly To DaBaby’s Latest Sorry To LGBTQ Community

Over 150,000 tweets have poured in on Twitter regarding DaBaby’s latest apology to the LGBTQ community — and they aren’t pretty.

After firing off several comments perceived to be homophobic and sexist during his performance at Rolling Loud Miami on July 25, the Billboard chart topper has been dragged from Los Angeles to Charlotte, North Carolina. He’s also been cut from several festival lineups, including Lollapalooza 2021, the Governor’s Ball and Day N Vegas.

DaBaby Dropped From Lollapalooza Lineup Over Homophobic Comments

On Monday (August 2), DaBaby issued another Instagram apology, which clearly didn’t go over well on social media.

“I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made,” he wrote in part. “Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important.”

That’s all it took for the “DaApology” jokes to fly on Twitter.

Check out some of the reactions below.

    1. He was right…: and he can say whatever he wants it’s hip hop. We don’t need no butt pirates in hip hop

      1. LOL. The same weird dude fascinated with gays chiming in. LOL. I wonder why this occupies so much of your time and energy. Actually, no I don’t. We both know what you REALLY want. Hahahahahahahaha

    2. He fucked up…but I’m really tired of these articles about fake bot accounts “canceling” people.

    3. Apologizing to a cancel mob is a waste of time. There like sharks, once the blood hits the water there’s nothing you can do to back them off. No apology is ever good enough, these are the same people digging up old interviews from John Wayne so they can make his name trend on twitter and pretend their upset about something a man who’s been dead 40 years said 50 years ago. Outrage is their lifeblood. Just ignore them until they forget about you and move on to next weeks controversy.

    4. Gheys should first apologize to the world community for bringing HIV before demanding any apologies

      1. You sound like Game when he made the same comments. AIDS was an instrument to wipe out minorities as well as the lgbtq community that got out of hand with room to allow a few casualties on the privileged white society. There’s a war going on outside no man (nor woman) is safe from.

      2. You sound like some old head dinosaur that grew up in the 70s/80s. I bet you were screaming for justice for George Floyd (so was I, and rightly so) but you think gay people should live as second class citizens?? You’re a hypocrite of the highest order. I’ve seen the rest of your hateful comments on here and you definitely come across as a self hating closeted gay/bi man. You keep going out of your way to discriminate against a certain group in society. What makes me sick is that the vast majority of gay people of all races support the BLM movement, but the feeling isn’t mutual. You keep talking about the gay community as if we all think in unison, I couldn’t care less about an apology from Da Bigot as it’s all fake anyway. Enjoy your pathetic self hating life on your phone all day in your bedroom, in your tiny little apartment you bigot.

      3. “ Gheys should first apologize to the world community for bringing HIV before demanding any apologies”……..”bringing HIV”…wtf does that even mean lol. Btw HIV/AIDS in the human population began in Cameroon in the early 1900’s, a local hunter was infected by a primate with SIV he had killed, this was through an open wound. The man developed what is known as HIV/AIDS and this was spread on through sex. I’m no raging gay rights activist, but at least learn to educate yourself on some things before you open your mouth and look like a fool as usual

    5. honestly I was never really a “fan” of dababy. he has some catchy tunes but overall i feel he’s an industry plant schemed to make urban youth think and perceive themselves as infants. he’s learning the hard way that hip hop is no longer for the culture. you can rap about killing your enemies but you can’t speak openly against lbgtq. it’s their genre now

      1. There are several things you can’t speak out about, dumb dumb. LGBTQ is just one of them, and it’s across ALL forms on entertainment and social media. “The culture” hasn’t existed since the 90’s little kid. Relax.

    6. Hahahaha. He’s trying to follow in Boosie and T.I.’s steps. He’s forgetting one simple thing. What are either of those two doing chart wise and festival, concert wise? He took too long to get ahead of this. I bet his label drops him and shelves his album. He should start yelling racism. That’s what T.I. and Boosie would do.

    7. Hiphop gone be gay as fuck in a couple years lmao what a disgrace to the culture. These gay ass clowns would be put in their place back in the 90’s/00’s.

    8. Now he’s just trying to save face. If he wasn’t so remorseless after the incident then maybe people would be more forgiving

    9. Never apologize to the outrage mob, their lust for shitting on people in hivemind unison will always outweigh their “passion” for “helping educate people” & “spreading tolerance”

    10. bring back gangster rap, all these weak men will run off to pop music. %90 of the hiphop rap artist out now should of been Pop….. back in the day gangster music had these same clowns scared to come outside now they dancing in the streets fingering themselves, sigh

    11. How many comments are you all gonna delete in this section? You spend more time deleting comments than writing decent articles.

      1. Yup. They keep doing it to me too even when I’m not posting anything insensitive or disrespectful. They’re fucking wack

    12. This is why you should stick to your guns and not butch out about something you said . Yeah you lose a bag or two on some lame concert nobody even heard about but worse you now lost your respect cuz you same something and now you apologize like a little biiiitchh smh lol

      1. First, these festivals aren’t risky dink shows as you’re implying. Secondly, you do know that artists make the bulk of their money from doing shows and endorsement deals, right? If you weren’t a short sighted 14 year old you’d understand nobody is going to touch this idiot with a ten foot pole. He’s going to miss more than “a bag or two.” And that “bag” shit is wack, refer to cash like a grown man…

    13. I find it so crazy that he did all this stuff and didn’t get cancelled until he said something that offended the LBGT community.
