Da Brat and her wife Jesseca Harris-Dupart have learned their baby’s gender at an extravagant gender reveal party.

On Saturday (March 25), the Chicago rapper and serial entrepreneur shared a video on Instagram of the festive occasion. They were surrounded by family and friends alongside a sea of pink and blue colors to represent which gender the child could potentially be. The married couple were also decked out in the vibrant colors from head to toe.

In the video, both women, along with their guests, could be seen looking at a decorative screen while it counted down from 10 to reveal the gender of the baby. Once the screen flashed “It’s A Boy,” there was pure pandemonium amongst everyone in attendance.

“Baby Harris – Dupart is a boy,” the couple captioned the joyous clip along with a series of blue heart emojis.

There were a number of celebrities and public figures who congratulated the couple on their impending bundle of joy. Most notably, Jermaine Dupri wrote: “Congratulations !! I knew it was gonna be a boy.”

Dupri signed Da Brat as one of the first artists to his So So Def label in 1992, and they’ve been friends and musical collaborators ever since.

The Funkdafied rapper announced her pregnancy to the world last month, sharing a series of photos on Instagram flaunting her growing baby bump in Chicago Bulls gear.

Plenty of Da Brat’s Hip Hop peers flooded her comments section, with the likes of Missy Elliott, Bun B, Trina, D-Nice and Muni Long sending their love and congratulations.

“Awwww this so Amazing,” Missy wrote, while Bun added: “Aww shit it’s all the way up! Congrats y’all!!”

Da Brat also showcased her pregnant belly in a gangster-inspired photoshoot for PEOPLE magazine alongside Jesseca Harris-Dupart, and opened up about their turbulent journey to having a child together with the publication.

“I had never been so excited about something that I didn’t even know I wanted. I fell in love with the idea and then it was all snatched away from me,” she said, referencing a heartbreaking miscarriage.

Luckily for the couple, the 48-year-old rapper “still had quite a few of her eggs left” and they chose an anonymous donor described as “an eager entrepreneur” from their cryo bank.

“It’s just a blessing. I’m excited!” she added. “I never thought I was going to have kids. I just thought it wasn’t in the cards for me. I’ve had a great career, a full life. I felt like, because I didn’t get pregnant earlier on, then it just wasn’t going to happen for me.

“I started looking at life so differently [after meeting Harris-Dupart. I was like, I want a little me with you. Something special from the both of us that we can share and raise and love unconditionally.”

Da Brat came out as gay in March 2020 before tying the knot with Harris-Dupart in February 2022.
