Crooked I Talks Upcoming Slaughterhouse Project, Involvement From Eminem & DJ Premier

As Slaughterhouse readies its Shady Records debut, Crooked I recently discussed the anticipated project with Conspiracy Worldwide Hip Hop Radio.

The West Coast emcee first discussed the possibility of getting DJ Premier involved in the project. “It’s always a possibility until it’s getting pressed up and printed up,” said Crooked. “When we did the first Slaughterhouse album, we recorded most of it in Premier’s studio, in New York. HeadQCourterz.”

Crook also discussed the difference in recording the group’s upcoming project as opposed to their last. “I think the difference is we have a lot more elbow room on this album, because the last album was on Koch. We were kinda placed in a box. You got a lot of elbow room to be creative, and you have a CEO that’s an emcee as well. He understands where we’re coming from. It’s just a blessing, man.”

The Slaughterhouse member also talked features without getting specific. “There’s a lot of heavyweight producers on board; we’ll have a few surprise features with artists out there that are staying true to the craft and are reigning on the charts. It’s moreso about the sound. We don’t ever grab a record and say ‘This’ll be a smash hit if we put this person on who’s popular.’ It’s more about the sound, like, ‘Who would sound good on this?’ whether it’s an underground person or a mainstream person. It’s about who sounds the best and what would make the song come out the best.”

“We got some joints on there [that Eminem] produced,” revealed Crooked. “I don’t know all that will end up making the album, but definitely he will have joints on there. He brought a couple of incredible records to the table already.” Crooked wouldn’t commit to other producers on the project.

    1. In before the haters……

Looking forward to the SH album, hopefully primo does make it onto the final tracklist, or at least as a bonus cut or summin

    2. * SlaughterHouse!!!!

      * as before mentioned, hopefully Preme will be on the album…also would like to have DJ Khalil, Dr. Dre, Alchemist, Emile and Nottz up there…

      1. you are very stupid. Eminem produced 90% of TES(His Best album). Himself and The bass Brothers produced 90% Of SSLP. Himself and Jeff Bass Produced 90% Of MMLP. He Produced renegade. He Produced 85% of Obie Trice’s Classic “Cheers”. He produced 90% of all D-12 albums. He produced Half of Encore(Toy Soldiers, MOSH, Yellow Brick Road, Evil Deeds, Mocking Bird, Spend Some Time, 1 sot 2 shot). He Produced Moment Of clarity, The cross, welcome to D block, on fire, Warrior pt 1 and 2. How the hell are his beats weak ????? And u call urself a fan ? Fuck u!!!

      2. I see where he’s coming from, many of his more recent beats have been a little bland. But agreed, many of his beats for his own past work have been excellent, in particular, The D12 album Devil’s Night was his best production work.

    3. Feminem & Slaughterhouse are wack ass old ass niggas. smart people listen to Lil Wayne & Drake. dey are mo talented….. dont support dese devil worshiper, woman rapin faggots. YMCMB is da best. swag

      1. I normally don’t even feed trolls but I’m just curious about somethin…so lemme get this straight, you want us to stop supportin so-called “devil worshippin, woman rapin faggots” in favor of money worshippin, man rapin faggots?? Nah I ain’t even gonna be able to do it homeboy, sorry.

      2. @malcolmlittle…you say you dont feed trolls but then you dignify the comment by responding with a logical answer as if what he said was intended as a logical statement. what the fuck is wrong with you?

DJ P Wins $250,000 From Smirnoff’s Master Of The Mix, Shares Winnings

The Missouri deejay who made “Uneasy Listening” with DJ Z-Trip a decade ago, shared his winnings with DJ M-Squared and DJ Yonny.

Last night (January 14) in Atlanta, Georgia, DJ P won Smirnoff’s Master of The Mix deejay competition. The veteran Springfield, Missouri deejay won $250,000 as this year’s winner.

DJ P shared $10,000 each with DJ Yonny and DJ M-Squared, a gesture not required in the competition judged by Just Blaze, Kid Capri and Amber Rose.

It feels so surreal I cant believe Im the Season Two winner of Master of the Mix, said DJ P in a statement. I was up against some serious competition and really didnt know how it would all work out because it was up to the fans to decide. Im just thankful to everyone who supported me and cant wait to spin for you all this year.

Like 2011’s winner, DJ Scratch, DJ P will deejay for Smirnoff throughout the year as an official party deejay.

DJ P is known for his 2001 retail-mixtape with Phoenix, Arizona’s DJ Z-Trip, Uneasy Listening, Volume 1. The work was an early mash-up release, featuring tracks from Pharcyde, Del The Funky Homosapien, and others mixed with Top 40 tracks from Madonna, Pat Benatar and The Who.

      ——–TUPAC’S ALLEGED MURDERER——-
Did you know that former Def Jam artist Mel-low who’s “BLAZE IT UP” music video featuring Redman, has a short clip of Orlando Anderson aka “Baby Lane” of the South Side Crips in Compton, CA? Orlando Anderson has been linked as the murderer of Tupac. You can see Orlando in the BLAZE IT UP video at min 1:48 – 1:51. In the video Orlando is squatting down in the middle of the dice game wearing a stripe shirt, holding a fist full of money while singing the hook. The night of Tupac’s murder, Orlando is the person that can be seen on security video getting beat up in the casino by Suge Knight, Tupac and several other guys. Orlando Anderson killed in Compton a few years after Tupac’s murder.

      ABOUT: Mel-low
The first male artist from the west coast that Russell ever signed Def Jam was Mel-low from Compton, CA. Mel-low’s first Def Jam single BLAZE IT UP feat Redman would become the first Def Jam video ever to get banned from being played on both BET and MTV. Def Jam spent big money on each Mel-low video. Russell Simmons was excited to have signed Mel-low and had major big plans him. Unfortunately right when it was time to put out Mel-low’s debut album “It’s a B.G. THANG” Def Jam ended up going through serious merger with another company. This merger resulted in Mel-low’s album coming out on a much smaller label. Google Mel-low’s album and listen to his track and you’ll see what all the hype was about. Make sure you listen to the tracks “No Love” and “Lord Have Mercy”!!!!!!!!

Here’s a link to BLAZE IT UP and a few more Mel-low music videos.

    6. Crooked is a beast!
One of the best MC’s alive

I like Slaughterhous as a group, they all got allot of skills
But I would like to see a Crooked I & Royce da 5’9 collabo album happen
And btw, a Joe Budden solo album is always welcome (that guy got some deep lyrics)
And o jeah, big up to Ortiz as well, he’s a dope rapper with plenty of talent
But from the Slaughterhouse, he’s my 4th placed MC

      1. Well if they want more recognition and decent album sales it only makes sense to have one or two commercial joints. But I guarantee majority of the album will be real hip hop

      2. No kidding, you mean artist on a major label are gonna try and make a hit single to sell there album with??

        HOLY SHIT!!!!!

SMH, fuck outta here dude, aint nothing wrong with having a catchy single to sell your record, so long as the other 14-15 tracks go hard

People dont enjoy living in poverty b

      1. crooked said in another interview that they recorded around 50 and are cutting it down to 15. this is going to be an amazing album.

    7. Dey sumthin bout Crooked I that gets me so hard. i love Lil Wayne and Drake but if dis nigga asked to fuck my ass Id let him bareback me. swag

      1. Since u so down wit young money pls hook me up wit nicki. Hope I don’t sound to heinous when I say this but I wanna stick my penis in her anus!!

    8. @ So Icy Toy

Why keep on going with that stupid shit?
Get a life you moron, this is a Hip Hop site
And you talk a lot, but it never has one thing to do with Hip Hop

      Useless troll

      1. Yela and Em features are 100% sure, im hoping for other features outside shady records, Tech N9ne for example,it would be a crazy collab

      2. Tech already did a Collab with Crooked I, it was Sicology 101 with them and Chino XL. It goes without saying its sick.

    9. Okay so a lot of mainstream producers and features. That sounds bad. You have 5 mc’s already, why get features? I might be wrong, but I think this album is gonna be all over the place.

      1. Also, Crooked has beats that sound very very very mainstream. Like stereotypical rap beat. It’s been like that for almost all of Crook’s career.

    10. Hope this album is sick. I really do. It should be but I hope that its not all mainstream. A Dre joint, a Premier joint, some stand out producers and some dope features.

    11. Eminems beats are wack – sorry, but they are – anyone listen to that loyal to the game joke of an album?

      Nuff sed
