The aftershock brought forth by Lil Nas X continues to permeate the culture.
Up next, the mysterious RMR has made a serious social media indent with his debut single ‘Rascal,’ which has amassed 15,000 views on YouTube with nearly new 1,000 subscribers within its first 24 hours of existence.
His Instagram, in all its three-post glory, is also booming.
The song samples country legends Rascal Flatts’ Hannah Montana hit “Bless The Broken Road” but amongst the audio tumbleweed twang, the video (directed by RMR) employs some seriously exaggerated rapper imagery, complete with Saint Laurent bulletproof vests, designer balaclavas and yes, several semi-automatic weapons.
Speaking to HipHopDX, the country trapper (who’s back and forth between Atlanta and Los Angeles) says the eye-popping visual will ultimately be judged by the beholder.
“When I put together this video, I wanted you to listen to it with your eyes open because real music has no boundaries,” RMR tells DX about his self-directed video.

Still glorifying this nightmarish life?
Bro for real. This shit influences people, no question. The difference between music and movies is, Al Pacino doesn’t pretend he’s a gangster when the camera isn’t rolling. Rappers really portray this as their lifestyle. And the easily manipulated see this, and want to emulate it. Forget the fact that it perpetuates a negative stereotype. It’s one big feedback loop. No bullshit, the black community en masse needs to reject glorifying this lifestyle.
It is some people’s lives tho… you ever been in the trap?
It doesn’t have to be, mfs just want to be down due to peer pressure please dont act like its madatory to be a scumbag FOH with that logic
I hope this clown get his wig split. I hope they leave his body stankin in the crib like they did that loser Pop Smoke.
WTF is wrong with this generation?
as oppossed to what other generation? you old dorks really try to paint rap and rap culture from 90s and 2000s as some peaceful shit.
Wasnt this negative and talentless though..
Growing up in the trap is no excuse to glorifying guns and violence. There are numerous people who grew up in those situations and are better off now without any hint of violence. The trap life is basically for at risk youths with no education and only seek street life, dope dealing and gang activities as the only way out. We have lost so many young lives to these activities. But here we are again waving guns at the camera and taunting supposed enemies who are more determined and deadlier than us. One single slip as tweeting your location could spell your demise. Do we ever learn. Fxcks wrong with black people? Is there no limit to the ignorance? DAMN!!!
Funny thing is you never realised they have decent families until shxt hits the fan. The mothers (if they have one) are usually the ones who bear the pain the most. Put the gun away for once and be creative with your music damn. You never realised how powerful the media is until it fcka you up. You reap what you sow!!!
