Conway The Machine has managed to muster up the strength to take a few light steps on his dislocated knee with some inspiration from 50 Cent.

Earlier this week, the Buffalo rapper uploaded a video of himself standing upright in the hospital and walking with the assistance of a walker and the nurses on hand. Stitched into the video was the chorus from 50 Cent’s 2003 Get Rich Or Die Tryin‘ album cut “Gotta Make It To Heaven.”

“I gotta make it to Heaven for going through Hell/ I gotta make it to Heaven, I hope I make it to Heaven,” 50 Cent raps over the infectious beat, speaking to Conway’s desire to overcome going through the “hell” of breaking his leg and dislocating his knee.

Conway The Machine previously announced that he had to postpone his forthcoming Won’t He Do It Tour due to his leg injury. The unfortunate news was delivered to fans in an Instagram post on Monday (May 22).

“The results are in,” he wrote with a facepalm emoji. “I have a Fractured right tibia, dislocated kneecap, ANNNNND the album of the year tho!”

He continued: “But In all seriousness tho, anyone that knows me knows there’s nothing I love to do more than bein up on that stage! I can’t lie I’m super disappointed that I have to postpone the WHDi tour for a little bit, because I was really looking forward to goin on those stages and rocking this WHDI shit for y’all live. However I am in good spirits and I’m only looking at it as just a minor lil setback for a MAJOR COMEBACK! No stress!!”

“If u already bought tickets they’ll be honored at the later dates for sure! More updates coming this week. I appreciate all the love and concern for my well-being, love y’all.”

Conway may be rehabbing his knee for now but he needed no help in a recent freestyle he put down when he stopped by Funk Flex’s popular Hot 97 show earlier this month.

Prior to lighting up the mic, the rap superstar let the world know that he was about to get in his “New York City Bag” while representing his hometown of Buffalo, New York. He then proceeded to follow DJ Juanyto’s cue and begin his freestyle over the instrumental for Brooklyn newcomer Scar Lip’s viral song “This Is New York.”

“Pullin’ up, somethin’ frosty on the arm/ N-ggas plottin’, but it don’t cause me no alarm/ My dog with me, he’s armed/ No thoughts of being harmed/ Of course, I’m still the don,” Conway rapped.

I tore cities across seas and beyond/How dare you?/ To play with me, like I won’t air you/ I swear you/ Better play with somethin’ safe or be careful/ Thought I made it clear to you, I ain’t who you compare to.”
