Childish Gambino has returned with his new album Atavista, which is equipped with some huge features.
The rapper/singer (real name Donald Glover) released the project by surprise on Monday (May 13), kickstarting what’s set to be an unusually busy year for him on the music front.
Atavista is the “finished” version of 3.15.20, the album he released in March 2020 and which has since been removed from streaming platforms.
This new iteration features official song titles, reworked tracks and a slightly shorted tracklisting. There are also new vocals from Young Nudy and Summer Walker, along with previous guests 21 Savage, Ariana Grande, Ink and Kadhja Bonet.
Childish Gambino announced the arrival of Atavista on X while also teasing an upcoming vinyl version that will have a visual for each track.
“ATAVISTA is streaming now,” he wrote. “This album is the finished version of ‘3.15.20’, the album i put out 4 years ago. There’s a special vinyl coming soon w/ visuals for each song.”
In addition, Bino confirmed that his next album — which he previously revealed is called Bando Stone in the New World and is a soundtrack to a film of the same name he is developing — will be released this summer.
It is being billed as his final album under his rap name.

The Atlanta creator capped off his post by sharing a link to his new music video for “Little Foot Big Foot” which features Nudy.
The theatrical black and white clip, which appears to be set in the early 1900s, boasts a cameo appearance from Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson.
In the clip, Childish Gambino and two backup performers sing and dance in a bar in front of an unimpressed audience. However, the mood changes when a man is accidentally shot and killed.
The video is directed by Gambino’s longtime collaborator Hiro Murai, who previously helmed the visuals for “3005,” “Sweatpants,” “Telegraph Ave.,” “Sober” and “This Is America.” Murai also worked with Glover on Atlanta and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
