Chance The Rapper Praised By Michelle Obama, Lupe Fiasco & More After $1M Donation To Chicago Schools

Chance The Rapper made a statement when he donated $1 million to Chicago Public Schools yesterday (March 6).

Many applauded the Grammy-winning rapper for his efforts, including former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Several in the Hip Hop community shared their gratitude for Chano making this move, especially after he said he had an “unsuccessful” meeting with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner earlier in March.

Fellow Chicago MC Lupe Fiasco shared his thanks to Chance for continuing the Windy City’s Hip Hop legacy.

    1. Lol @ how money is supposed to make education better? Heads Up: WE INVENTED MONEY; EDUCATION SHOULD BE A PRIORITY RE-F**KING-GARDLESS! We’re such an a** backwards country.

    2. i got an idea, how about putting some money your motherfucking self instead of just jumping on the band wagon without doing anything

    3. Lupe somehow ALWAYS finds a way to redirect the attention back to himself? Sit down, Fiasco. This ain’t about you.

      1. Lupe has done a lot for the Chicago community. WTF are you talking about? He just wants this thing to continue. I can tell you hardly have any brains

    4. Shout out to Chance the philanthropist for giving back to his community. The brother is putting the money up instead of rhetoric. Salute.

    5. Good for him…now if we can find a way to make being educated a good thing in the hood instead a reason to be called an uncle tom, this way Chance’s unselfish deed doesn’t go to waste
