Sacramento veteran emcee Brotha Lynch Hung has been making cult-followed independent Rap records since 1993’s 24 Deep. Known for his horror-themed imagery and gang-banging west coast surroundings, Hung was a cited inspiration to Snoop Dogg, who has mentioned aspirations of re-releasing some of the rapper’s early Priority Records albums.
The onetime X-Raided protege signed to Tech N9ne’s Strange Music last year. Hung will release his Strange Music debut Dinner And A Movie on March 23. Having already sold over 1.4 million career albums, Lynch’s latest is a careful presentation of his unique styles.
The single “Meat” (video below) will be followed by “I Plotted (My Next Murder)” and “Colostomy Bag” respectively. All three videos are directed by Dan Gedman. The music video trilogy is said to be inspired by popular book and film American Psycho. Gedman said in a statement, “This is the first time this has ever been done. We are visually bringing this character to life, and then Lynch is going to write the next two albums. It’s an interactive process. Now he has to lyrically revisit the character and story, knowing what it all looks like.”
