As a unit, the Boot Camp Clik have not done all that much. Their first LP, “For The People” was seen as a very disappointing album. The reason for the poor reception was only because the crew had raised the bar so high. The BBC, consisting Black Moon, Cocoa Brovas (formerly Smif ‘n’ Wessun), Heltah Skeltah and OGC had built their reputation with incredible albums.
Black Moon’s “Enta Da Stage,” Smif ‘n’ Wessun’s “Dah Shinin’” and Heltah Skeltah’s “Nocturnal” are considered classic albums by many. Da Beatminerz (DJ Evil Dee and Mr Walt) handled nearly all of the production on those albums and will contribute to “The Chosen Few” as well. Additional production will come from The Alchemist, Hi-Tek, Bink!, Coptic Sounds and Boodah. As a bonus to the project Marc Ecko of Ecko Clothing will be exclusively handling all creative album design and artwork.
The album will drop on October 8th on Duck Down Records. The distribution will be handled by KOCH International, whom Duck Down just recently signed a deal with.
