Boosie Badazz believes that R. Kelly would have put on an “amazing” Super Bowl Halftime Show if the circumstances were different and he wasn’t locked up.
Taking to Twitter soon after Usher’s performance on Sunday night (February 11), the 41-year-old MC shared his dream set list for the hypothetical show by the disgraced singer, who he’s shown love to multiple times despite his fall from grace.
“IF RKELLY WOULDNT HAVE GOT N TROUBLE HIS SONGS WOULD BE AMAZING AT A SUPERBOWL HALFTIME SHOW!!” he wrote. “I CAN HEAR THAT VOICE NOW ‘I BELIEVE I CAN FLY,’ ‘STEP N THE NAME OF LOVE,’ ‘I WISH I WISH I WISH,’ ‘THE WORLDS GREATEST,’ ‘FIESTA FIESTA,’ ‘WHEN A WOMAN LOVES’ then ‘SAME GIRL’ N BRING USHER out OMG!! #letskeepitreal”

A lot of fans seemed confused by his praise for the convict.
“Why are you thinking about r kelly right now?” a person asked in the comments section, while another added: “Boosie why are u vouching for this mane.”
One user even took the opportunity to joke about the Chicago native’s crimes, writing: “Would’ve been picking teens out the crowd to piss on.”
R. Kelly’s was sentenced to 30 years in prison in 2022 after being convicted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, which Boosie was quite upset about. The Baton Rouge rapper admitted the disgraced singer was “wrong” for what he did and that he deserves to serve time behind bars, though he also argued that his crimes don’t warrant such a lengthy term.
“People getting 15/20 years for murder n he get 30!!” he tweeted. “Yes he was wrong af for manipulating young girls n sexing them but he didn’t kill anyone, aggravated rape anyone .N no blame on the parents who knew everything. Resentence this man!! College professors get probation for this shit.
“Get this man some help n some jail time but don’t give him a death sentence ,30 years !!Maybe he can one get out one day n warn these young girls about older predators n make a difference ?but 30 years like Come on world!!”
He even pointed the finger at the parents of Kelly’s victims, posting a screenshot of a court document that alleged one of the underage victims’ mother “engineered [her] relationship” with the singer and “actively misled [him] about her age.”

Later that year, he also called the 57-year-old the “best to ever do it” as he danced along to songs from his leaked project, I Admit It.
The first video featured Boosie smiling and bobbing his head as R. Kelly details a conversation with Wendy Williams on the three-part title track, “I Admit It.”
“She said, ‘What about Aaliyah,’ I said, ‘Love’/ She said, ‘What about the tape,’ I said, ‘Hush’/ I said, ‘My lawyers said don’t say [nothin] but I can tell you that I been set up,” he sings on the track, which was previously released to Soundcloud in 2018.
