Boosie Badazz has said there was never any doubt in his mind that Tory Lanez would be found guilty in his Megan Thee Stallion shooting trial.
But his prediction was based more on precedent than on actually believing Meg’s account of the events, he said in a new VLAD TV interview. Boosie also explained that he avoided speaking about the case while it was still under investigation or during the trial, because he didn’t want his opinion to sway the case in any way.
“I can comment now. ‘Cause you know I didn’t want my interview to stir which way,” the Baton Rouge rapper said. “But I knew he would be found guilty. You never saw a man and a woman go through something and that man wins. Never. Johnny Depp won. He got that money out that bitch, she went too far.
“But, domestic violence: I’ve never seen nobody win in court when it’s a woman against a man,” Boosie Badazz continued. “Mike Tyson, 2Pac; it goes on. Bro, I didn’t wanna say this; but I never seen when something like that happens, that a man comes out victorious on a woman. And I been wanting to say this four interviews ago.”
As far back as August of 2020, Boosie Badazz made it known that he would not be speaking about Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting, which had taken place the previous July.
In a livestream interview with The Shade Room just days after Meg identified Tory Lanez as the person who had shot her, the outspoken rapper refused to offer his take on the situation despite being prodded for an answer.
“I don’t wanna get in that ’cause I don’t wanna say the wrong thing,” he said. “I don’t wanna say the wrong thing because I fuck with Tory and I fuck with Meg. I need me a Meg verse now. I’m not finna say shit!”
One of the interviewers, Buzy Baker, mentioned how women at the time had largely been vocal about the incident while many men in the industry had been noticeably silent. Boosie responded by explaining why he declined to comment.
“I don’t wanna be the first to talk about it,” he said. “I don’t wanna talk about it because I’ma be in the wedge. They gon’ take this and they gon’ flip it on me. And they gonna make it look like a took a side. So like my mama say, I need to shut up on this one.”
However, in December 2021, when Tory Lanez declined a plea deal in the case, Boosie broke his silence in a separate VLAD TV interview, seemingly co-signing Tory Lanez’s decision to undergo a full trial in the case with Megan Thee Stallion.
Boosie offered that, if he were the Canadian crooner, he would take whatever happened to the “grave.”
“You think I’m finna agree and say ‘I shot Megan Thee Stallion’? Fuck no, you crazy,” Boosie said while laughing. “I could’ve shot her in the back with a million muthafuckas looking, ‘I ain’t shoot Megan Thee Stallion,’ uh-uhh. You think I’m gonna say I shot that fine muthafucka? No, I’m taking that to the grave! Yeah it’s going to the grave, ‘I ain’t shoot you, you lying.’ I’m telling you If I was that n-gga shit, he ain’t doing nothing wrong.”
Still, in his latest interview with DJ Vlad, Boosie Badazz revealed that a conversation with his aunt made him look at the entire situation slightly differently.
“She woke me up,” he shared. “She said: ‘Boosie, it don’t fuckin’ matter, that’s a woman. How the fuck a gun come out!’ I couldn’t say shit. She said: ‘You coulda beat my ass. How the fuck that even come?’ I was lost. I was like, ‘Shit!’ So I knew it, I knew he was gon’ lose, but I didn’t wanna speak that while he was fighting.”
Tory Lanez was found guilty by a Los Angeles jury in December after eight days of trial in the Megan Thee Stallion 2020 shooting case. The three felony charges included assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
The Sorry 4 What rapper faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison, as well as subsequent deportation to his native Canada.
In late February, his sentencing was pushed back to another date amid the embattled R&B star’s plans to file a motion for a new trial in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case.
According to reporter Meghann Cuniff, Lanez was expected to appear in court on February 28 for what was supposed to be a sentencing hearing following his conviction on three felonies, but the sentencing will reportedly be delayed in order to give his legal team more time for a new trial.
According to Fox 11 Los Angeles, a new sentencing hearing has been set for April 10.

When keeping it real goes wrong. Reasonable doubt was already established – All he had to do was take the stand and state CLEARLY what had already been implied.
Such a pathetic misogynist…. Hate on black women and gays as much as u like but don’t you dare say anything about the great black caveman and his vulgar BS. Drunk junkie POS. Can’t wait for that liver cirrhosis to kick in. See what knowledge he has to kick about the consequences of getting blotto and doped up every day of your life. In the end he’s just scared….scared of that bottle running dry. You kids realize that your great hero here starts shaking and trembling if he doesn’t get his vodka for breakfast. Look past his Louis Vuitton and see the human WRECK it’s covering up. Mister Hankee looking mofo.
Once you notice your relationship going downhill and you haven’t collected evidence, you don’t stand a chance against a woman in court. Look at how Johnny Depp beat Amber Heard. Imo it set a precedent. If it’s just your word against hers, you might not lose everything, but you won’t win a thing either.
Men don’t beat women in court just in cars and at home
