Bizzy Bone Responds To Bone thugs-n-harmony Being Left Off Rolling Stone’s “Top 100 Hip Hop Songs” List

Earlier this year, shortly after Rolling Stone released a special “The 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs” edition of its magazine, rapper Layzie Bone blasted the publication for leaving Bone thugs-n-harmony off the list.

Sitting down with HipHopDX’s Ural Garrett for a recent interview, Bizzy Bone offered a different perspective of the group’s absence from the feature.

“I think it gave us room to have a second wind,” he said. “I really think that it gives us the room to do the Aerosmith, Megadeth, Beatles, kind of Hip Hop move. I think if we’re totally out of the game, I think then ‘Crossroads’ will surface. But while we’re around, I don’t think it’s like, ‘C’mon, c’mon, c’mon, we see you touring. C’mon.’ To me it’s an opportunity Rolling Stone is trying to give us more than anything else subliminally. If not I’m a lunatic anyway, so keep it rockin’.”

    1. rolling stone gotta be kidding me,they are white based publication so they are outsiders tryna get in on the fun, they have no idea whats hip hop so let em have their idea of what it is but as far as i know bone’s crosssroads is my hot 100 no doubt its still a classic i lost a mom so how can i forget that song i relate to it pretty much

    2. Crossroad should of definitely made the list and should of been pretty high on that list too.

    3. BTNH & ‘Crossroads’ IS on the List at #95! WHO’s TOO HIGH to see that?! The Rolling Stones CEO is the main man that decides WHO gets in to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, IF you’re tryin’ SO HARD to get in, WHY bite the hand that feeds them?! BONE are legends but haven’t made a classic song in almost 20 years, with all the booze, drugs & infighting! SAD…

      1. Nothing sad about btnh their story look like it was about to end sad but they bounce back hard

    4. Yes but unlike other great groups they still manage to drop a platinum album and single I tried 10 years after people claim they were done. All that negative stuff is in the past they have been going 5 strong the last 4 years straight

    5. In all honest truth Bone Thugs N Harmony had to be at least honourably mentioned and that’s “at least”.
Especially if they topped the Beatles at one point in their early career but that’s besides the fact they’re still going..still relevant and still inspirational too many people today and onwards till the future. how about fucking off the subscribers and speaking reality like the #truth for fucking once it don’t make sense honestly. Let the artist and music speak for itself, they’re not going nowhere they will #eternally be here whether we like or not for the struggles sake give them accreditation. #btnh4life#youdeserveit#noquestion#fuckthepublication#weloveyou
