Big Sean Compares G.O.O.D. Music To Death Row, Roc-A-Fella & Bad Boy

Big Sean has lofty aspirations for himself and his fellow G.O.O.D. Music members.

In an interview with MTV News, the Detroit emcee compared G.O.O.D. Music – comprised of Kanye West, Pusha T, Common, and others – to some of the most storied collectives in Hip Hop history.

“When we rocked Made in America as a G.O.O.D. Music team, it just reminded how I used to look at Bad Boy and how they had big productions and how I used to look at Death Row or Roc-A-Fella,” explained Sean.

“It’s just really tight to be a part of something,” added Big Sean. “It’s really tight to be a part of a family, especially sharing a stage with the heroes you looked up to from Jay to ‘Ye, Common, all that.”

G.O.O.D. Music will have an opportunity to make an argument for its place in history when it drops its first album, Cruel Summer, next week.

    1. Omillio is lyrically better than everyone in G.O.O.D (besides Pusha of course). He was also the shittiest nigga in the ROC; That should pretty much sum up Smedium Sean comparing G.O.O.D to any of those camps.. especially the R.O.C.

    2. Fuck outta here. The ROC, Death Row, & Bad Boy will shit on G.O.O.D. Music. GOOD Music ain’t a team, just a group of niggas. How the fuck Big Sean and 2Chainz gonna make music with Lil Wayne when Pusha T got beef with that nigga? Them niggas ain’t riding for each other. Hoe ass niggas

      1. well mack maine already said that the song was made before wayne dissed pusha.

also that wasnt even a beef. Pusha took some subliminal shots (like a bitch), then wayne responded directly. Now its over. There is no beef because neither has spoken on it.

But if you MUST shit on GOOD music then shit on all of them. Kanye has R. Kelly on the first song even though kellz and jay had a huge blow up.

Common said his song wasnt about drake, then later on said it was. (like how rick ross said he wasn a CO, then later on he said he was)

Cyhi tweets that GOOD is better than YMCMB but deletes it and backs down from what he was saying

2 Chainz isnt part of the crew, just affiliated. hes excluded. John Legend is r&b and just lets his music speak

But i do agree, Good Music isnt on the level of Bad Boy and Death Row back in the day

    3. Common aint on the Roster no more. Thats a big loss. With Yeezy, Common and John Legend, GOOD had one of the best lineups in music.

      Not so much now.

    5. White people’s opinions do not matter in hip hop. A bunch of pig skinned wannabe’s who wanna be black on the internet but in public are too scared to show yourselves. Your race is weak, that’s why you always looking at the next best thing – Black Niggaz. I wish global warming would hurry up already so you can all get burnt by the sun till you get cancer of the skin.

      1. Dude kill yourself, Im pretty sure a white guy help start DEF Jam. Pretty sure Jay still goes to a white guy for his opinion on his new material. Im pretty sure hip hop would be nothing with out white people. Dude racism would die if black people would let it. What are you made about, you were not born a slave neither was your pops or grand pop. Black people are some of the riches people now. Did you see the article of Forbes. You sound dumb talking about White Black still. We are all people, act like it. By the way im white, I date a beutiful black women, I love rap, and i make 82,000 a year. Doesn’t that just make you pissed my dude.

      2. are you fucking retarded? do you realize that 75% of hip hop artists have WHITE GUYS as their engineers? Those white guys you hate so much are the reason your favorite artists music sounds so clear and have such great sound quality.
shut the fuck up before you speak

      3. Hip hop does not need white people. When Cool Herc started hip hop on Sedgewick Avenue there were no white engineers or white corporate assholeswho by the way have caused the death of hip hop. All white people have done is commercialize hip hop just like they commercialize everything else. 36 chambers, Illmatic, Reasonable doubt, Me against the world, Ready to Die, Strictly business, Paid in full, Lifestyles of the poor and dangerous… just to name a few. All these albums had no white engineers or producers for that matter. hip hop is black and because you whites have no soul, culture or authenticity of your own you want to be a part something thats real but you will always be a bunch of pork skinned pigs until the day you det sun burnt off to death. To hell with ur white corporate cronies and engineers. We don’t need you.

      4. Hip hop does not need white people. When Cool Herc started hip hop on Sedgewick Avenue there were no white engineers or white corporate dick heads who by the way have caused the death of hip hop. All white people have done is commercialize hip hop just like they commercialize everything else. 36 chambers, Illmatic, Reasonable doubt, Me against the world, Ready to Die, Strictly business, Paid in full, Lifestyles of the poor and dangerous… just to name a few. 5. racism dies when people in all races grow up and realize that everyone is the same. im white and if i wanna listen to some gangsta shit i will

    6. fuck that comment death row and bad boy were classic record labels you fucking drag queen with real rappers who were hip-hop for life and actually battled unlike your bitch ass crew

    7. He never said they were on that level.. he just said it basically reminded him of those big groups……. buncha zombies on here

      1. thats what im saying man. these fuckin backpackers have theirs bras strapped on to tight! …G.O.O.D Music is probably the best crew out right now. And all dude said was that it reminded him of those crews….shit aint no crews any more. The last best crew was Justus League…9th, Media, Phonte, Khrysis etc.

    8. All these albums had no white engineers or producers for that matter. hip hop is black and because you whites have no soul, culture or authenticity of your own you want to be a part something that’s real but u will always be a bunch of pork skinned pigs until the day you get sun burnt off to death. To hell with ur white corporate cronies and engineers. We don’t need you. Hip hop does not need you.

      1. Take out the name calling and I agree. The same thing happen to rock n roll
Hip Hop comes from the soul point blank period. Black we have more soul overall then any other race out there. Other races has to study us either by the internet or youtube to get some style, learn lingo. Most white people want to be niggas and dont even know what it means its means more than this is just my homie. Hip Hop is a black form of experession. Black people do not hate white people or if we was really racist because if we was EM would never had the chance to break through.

Now chew on that for a minute.

So why everybody always say oh white rappers are the best. They had to get their shot by someone thats black. Their influence as a rapper had to come from someone black. You can name the top 5 greates white rappers and put them against the top 5 black rappers lets see who is better.

        Case Closed

      2. Lol, racist idiots.. “White people do this and this”.. you are racist, period. Don’t do what white people did wrong before you.. try learning from history.

      3. Cool Herc your ignorance is beyond anything I ever seen. ‘All these albums had no white engineers or producers?’ are you on some drugs.
Illmatic sound tech is a white guy dummy, and the album was executively produced by MC Serch, who was the one that gave nas his shot. Dont be talking about shit you know nothing about.

    9. Big Sean doesn’t even know what these labels stood for. None of them fools on GOOD can touch Pac, Snoop, Dre, Jay-z, Beanie or Biggie in their prime. Bitch ass nigga

      1. hahah come on man are you serious? Dude is not saying theyr better. all he said was that it reminded him of those crews… as for Pac and Snoop…please..Both are/were over rated. yeah i fuckin said it.

    10. FUCK THIS FAGGOT.. FUCK GAY MUSIC.. YOUNG MONEY IS BETTER THEN ALL THE OF THE LABELS MENTIONED IN THIS ARTICLE!! WEEZY IS THE REAL BOSS!!!!

      5 LETTERS NIGGA: YMCMB

      1. dude, wayne aint shit, he hasn’t been good since Carter 2. I lost all my respect for him, Every1 on Good Music is better than Wayne, the fuck u talking bout

    11. Good Music compared to DeathROW? LMAO Good Music ain’t good enough, and there hood ain’t HOOD enough.. Suge knight is workin with Brick Squad Monopoly that is much closer to Deathrow than Good Music is.
