Hot Boy rapper B.G. has reportedly been denied a compassionate release from prison for a third time.
As reported by VladTV, a U.S. District Judge opted not to let the New Orleans native get a reduction on his 14-year-prison term. It took the judge a mere three days to reject the motion, which was written and submitted by another federal prisoner on B.G.’s behalf.
Titled “The Court Misconstrued Defendant’s Motion,” it focused on the motion B.G. submitted last year asking for his sentence to be reduced.
The latest filing argued the 2021 letter wasn’t intended to be a legal motion, but rather an attempt to raise awareness about B.G.’s displeasure with how his attorney handled a prior compassionate release motion.
The letter encouraged the court to reconsider him for a compassionate release and asked for the 2021 denial not to be held against him.
But evidently that wasn’t enough to convince U.S. District Judge Susie Morgan, who in her reply said that B.G. “has offered no new evidence that would affect the Court’s prior decision.”
Morgan already rejected a compassionate release petition that included support letters from Birdman, Slim, Wendy Day and Gary Payton Sr. earlier this year.
Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman posted an Instagram update about B.G.’s situation earlier this month and claimed he’d “be home in a minute,” which has proven to be unfounded. B.G. has fought numerous times for an early release.
He not only claimed his health issues left him at risk of contracting COVID-19, but he also dragged his former attorney for “incompetence” and challenged prosecutors’ attempts to “paint him as a violent individual due to his rap lyrics.”
B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison in connection with guns found during a traffic stop in eastern New Orleans over 10 years ago. Prosecutors added a witness tampering charge after his 2009 arrest, claiming B.G. pressured two other passengers to take the blame for the weapons.
He’s currently incarcerated in FCI Herlong in California with a scheduled release date of April 7, 2024.
So another inmate wrote the petition and he was supported by Birdman? Yeah I’m not surprised it was a no.
No another inmate didn’t write it they just delivered it. Birdman didn’t support this letter he wrote a letter of support on his own previously but didn’t help sway the judge last time.
The article clearly states the other inmate wrote the petition.
I think its time to let him out already. The cell he is using could be used to house somebody who is a bigger threat. How many 40 something former cash money and no limit artists are out there posing a threat to society ? Maybe mystikal and even those alledged charges sound sketchy.
I agree with everything except the mystikal part because this not the first time he been accused or found guilty. I’m not saying he guilty just that these allegations may hold some truth.
