Beyoncé has won her battle with Donald Trump, with the Republican candidate no longer allowed to use her song “Freedom” as part of his campaign.
According to Rolling Stone, Queen B filed a cease and desist against the Trump campaign after his spokesperson Steven Cheung posted a video of the presidential candidate walking off a plane, soundtracked by her 2016 Kendrick Lamar collaboration.
Beyoncé, as well as her record label and publisher, objected to the use of “Freedom” by the Trump team and have successfully blocked them from using the song.
The video posted by Cheung has also been taken down from social media.
Soooo, Beyoncé grants Harris the rights to use her song ‘Freedom’ and the Trump campaign steals it.

However, Beyoncé has been happy for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris to use the song as an integral part of her campaign, with the Lemonade track a recurring theme in the current vice president’s public appearances and campaign videos.
Bey is also rumored to be making a surprise appearance at the ongoing Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
Harris has received much support from the Hip Hop community, with Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion both making appearances at a rally in Atlanta last month.
Megan performed a medley of her biggest hits and also said to the 10,000-strong crowd: “Lets get this done, hotties. Hotties for Harris!”
The Migos rapper then appeared to give a more serious speech about gun violence.
He said: “One of the issues I care about is resolving the gun violence issue. You can’t understand the struggles of gun violence if you’re not in the field or in the heart of it. So one thing I learned about working with Vice President Harris is she always stands on business.
“From inviting me to the White House last year to discuss these solutions, to passing the biggest gun safety laws today. So it’s only right in the birthplace of the culture, it’s also the same place to launch the first African American woman to run for president. Yeah, we changing the culture again!”
The Democratic National Convention has already seen surprise musical performances from Common and Lil Jon, the latter of whom treated the blue side of the aisle to a raucous rendition of his 2013 hit “Turn Down for What.”
It’s weird how they don’t want to use the shitty celebrities’ music who endorsed them. Aren’t their Kodak Black, Kid Rock, or Lil Pump songs he can use? Even Trump doesn’t fuck with their music.
Beyonce sucks too though lol. Most modern music. It’s the older stuff that’s good. 90s and earlier. After that, nothing holds up the same way.
I’m not a woman, so I’m ‘ not her target demographic. I guess you are since you feel so confident as to speak on it. Those other dudes aren’t even fucked with by their demographics or anybody for that matter. Beyonce is. I hope you can see the difference.
@silentpartnet Lil Pump has a song with over 1 billion views on youtube, and and 17.7 milliom subs. I think he’s absolute trash but saying he doesn’t have tons of success and fans is misleading. And as far as Kid Rock goes, his biggest hits were over 20 years ago, but he still consistently draws large crowds for shows. Last Kid rock show had 30k people. So to say neither are popular us just you lying to yourself. I’m not gonna claim Beyonce isn’t popular. On the contrary, she is wildly popular. But as far as music played at campaign events, Trump does play Kid rock music. Obviously not lil pump, since it isn’t age appropriate at all, and is junk in general.
You actually believe streaming numbers. Nobody fucking with that piece of shit’s music. Again, since you say it’s so popular, why not play it since he’s a supporter? He definitely needs the help.
The whole “cease and desist use of my music” argument is very un-American. Its basically saying “buy my music, but dont play it in places I dont like”. They argue music is supposed to bring people together, but then they start this divisive shit. Playing a song is not an endorsement.
It’s very American. You are not allowed to use someone’s art for anything outside of personal use. Campaign rallies and such are considered public performances and the rightsholders have the right to say no.
@urbanjournalist you couldn’t be more wrong. This individual case was because they used the song in a campaign video. You can play anything you want at a rally, just like a DJ doesn’t need to get permission to play any artists song at any event. You truly do not understand the law.
Petty, but so is Trump, so why not keep it away from that Orange Magat.
Hardly petty. Exercising who uses your intellectual property is as American as it gets. You’re talking like she went to some unknown Trump supporter online and told them to take down her song off their video. It does continue to beg the question why isn’t he fucking with his supporters’ music. That would make more sense. These are the people who fuck with you, so give them the promo.
neil young…..?
Neil Young definitely isn’t fucking with him. He’s a bleeding heart liberal. There are plenty of MAGA singers and celebrities. Kanye for one. Use some of that shitty music he’s been putting out the last ten years.
Trump 2024! Fuck that street shitter pajeet!
