BET’s “106 & Park” Airs Final Show

    After well over a decade on air, BET’s “106 & Park” bid farewell during an episode, which aired on Friday, December 19.

    Among those present during the last episode of the music video countdown show were its original hosts, Free Marie and A.J. Calloway. The duo served as the original hosts of “106 & Park,” which premiered in 2000, and went on to host the show for five years.

    Calloway offered a thank you to “106 & Park” fans in a post uploaded to Instagram on the day of the final show.

    In addition to appearances from past hosts, including Big Tigger and Julissa Bermudez, the “106 & Park” finale also welcomed appearances from singer Keyshia Cole and Maybach Music Group wordsmith Wale.

    Last month, it was announced that “106 & Park” would air its final show in December of this year. According to the network, BET will continue to air special episodes of “106 & Park,” including New Year’s Eve’s “106 & Party,” on various occasions. They will also reportedly continue with the show thanks to an online format.
