As nostalgic reboots continue to be all the rage, BET has thrown their name in the ring with one of their own. This one is only for the adults, though.
For Valentine’s Day weekend only, BET: Uncut will return to the late night airwaves on the channel for the first time since it went off the air in 2006. Along with a tweet announcing the show’s return, BET included a GIF of Cardi B sharing a three-way kiss with two women from her new “UP” video.
“We are bringing #BETUncut back temporarily all week long for Valentines Day weekend,” the tweet read. “Completely uncensored conversations about any and anything you want!”
BET: Uncut ran for six years and featured raunchy music videos that couldn’t necessarily get clearance to air during the daytime; Nelly’s “Tip Drill” may be the crown-holder. It’ll be interesting to see what BET does with the programming block, considering the fact that any music video and just about any raunchy content are available at the click of a button online.
However, the mention of “conversations” speaks to the network’s plan to expand on the original content. Reactions to the announcement were mixed, and those who think the tweet insinuates the show will be nothing more than conversations aren’t pleased.

“Maaaaaaaannn we don’t want no raggedy ass conversations — that’s what we have this app for,” one tweet read. “We wanna see who’s mama, sister and aunties were wildin in these Uncut videos back in their hay day.”
Others were simply excited, however.
“Uncut is coming back? Ahh shit! It’s lit,” another wrote.

Is this actually real or is this another prank? They claimed it was returning in 2015, but it happened to be a prank to introduce the reboot of MTV’s show Punk’d with new hosts Destorm and King Bach. Plus, with this new era of so called “hoes” being perpetual victims, blaming men and directors for degrading practices in videos/behind the scenes that they voluntarily sign up for/actively participate in, I don’t believe the BET Uncut comeback is real until I actually see it.
