Benny The Butcher wants people to understand the importance of Griselda Records, telling rappers they should be giving thanks to the label for inspiring their careers.

The Tana Talk rapper took to his Instagram Live earlier this week to deliver a public service announcement regarding the lack of appreciation Griselda has been getting. According to Benny, the Buffalo collective is the standard when it comes to rap, and they should be getting their flowers.

“I just want to make a public service announcement real quick,” Benny said as he prepared to roll a blunt. “These n-ggas been putting out tapes, and a lot of these n-ggas been doing their shit, but Griselda is still the standard. We inspire these n-ggas. We made these n-ggas believe they can build this shit. These n-ggas ain’t think they could do it.

“These n-ggas gave up. You telling them, ‘Nah, fight.’ Ain’t nothing wrong with inspiring n-ggas. I’m just saying y’all, back to Griselda being the standard. Griselda is the fucking standard. I don’t be hearing thank you from these n-ggas. These n-ggas be saying everything, but fucking thank you. I wanna start hearing thank you’s from these n-ggas man.”

This isn’t the first time Benny has come to the defense of his Griselda family. One of the last few times happened last year when Rap Radar podcast host Brian “B.Dot” Miller excluded himself, Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine and other Griselda rappers from his 10 Best Rappers of 2022 list.

Despite all three core members putting out quality projects in 2022, Benny, Westside Gunn and Conway The Machine were not included leaving the Butcher to comment on the list.

A fan had replied to B.Dot’s tweet asking how Griselda wasn’t included, but two out of the top three on the list didn’t even drop this year and still landed a spot. According to Benny, B.Dot is on something for leaving Griselda out.

“So no Conway Gunn or Benny but 2 guys who didn’t drop albums in the top 3…mmkay,” the fan wrote which led Benny to tweet: “Fuck smokin crack he gotta be eatin it.”

Another person asked if the reason B.Dot didn’t include them was because Conway threw a jab at him on a song, and Benny confirmed that could be the case while also revealing he had a run-in with one of his “rap friends.”
