Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beasties Boys has announced that he will both write and direct a short film based on the 1987 music video for their song “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!).”
TheBoomBox.com reports that the film, Fight For Your Right Revisited, will premiere at next year’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah and will feature a number of well-known actors including Elijah Wood, Danny McBride, Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, and Jack Black
A promo picture for the film, which was posted on BeastieBoys.com earlier this month, reveals that Rogen, Wood, and McBride may possibly star as the Beastie Boys in the film.
Released in the late 80’s the music video for “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)” was directed by Ric Menello and Adam C. Dubin.
The Beastie Boys are currently working on wrapping up their next album entitled Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2. The album is expected to be released in Spring 2011.
