Bankroll Fresh’s Uncle Calls DJ Vlad “Culture Vulture” In Open Letter

Bankroll Fresh’s uncle, Marvin Shadi Powers, VP of Digital Marketing for Street Money Worldwide, wrote an open letter to DJ Vlad blasting him for the interview with Bankroll Fresh’s confessed killer, No Plug, who blames the rapper for his own death.

“He came out with his gun and shit,” No Plug said to Vlad in the interview. “And shit happened. He came out playing with the shit. He fired a shot and shit happened. We pulled off. He ended up dead.”

In the letter, Powers calls out Vlad’s lack of journalistic integrity for not getting a rebuttal for the No Plug story from the late rapper‘s family.

“Dear Vlad, (VladTV),” Powers begins. “You disrespectful culture vulture. I offered you to talk to my family, (Bankroll Fresh’s family) when my nephew was first killed. Did you call us or reached out to the Street Money Worldwide family or his father and mother to get a rebuttal to No Plug’s story? None of that! When I asked you to interview Bankroll PJ and how he was continuing the legacy, you had a subordinate call me to tell me, you’re passing on PJ. He had just released a new single out plus he’s starring in a new FX TV show (Atlanta) this fall with Childish Gambino but no that was too positive, huh? Not enough black on black crime?”

He then goes on to call Vlad worse than TMZ’s Harvey Levin and calls out his use of the Hip Hop culture to fill his pockets no matter whose life is affected by it.

Powers also references Birdman’s infamous Breakfast Club interview where he demands respect from the radio hosts.

“So are y’all finished or are y’all done???” he continues. “You trying to destroy my nephew’s legacy after someone took his life? I’ll see you when I see you, clown. Let’s have some tea or break bread or something? But you will put some respect on Bankroll Fresh’s name. That’s a promise.”

Bankroll Fresh was reportedly murdered on March 4 outside Street Execs Studio in northeast Atlanta.

    1. I support the downfall of Dj Vlad and his terrible world star hip hop site. Barely any of the content on there supports real hip hop and everyone knows the site primarily due to the negative stereotypes of blacks posted on there. Dj Vlad contributes nothing good to this culture.

      1. But nobody is really contributing nowadays. All the elements of hip-hop don’t exist nowadays and aren’t being represented. There are way too many rappers now because of the internet and them fools is dumbing the music down and cashing in. It’s a shame.

    2. The widespread adoption of the phrase “culture vulture” by adults that had never used had it prior to a year ago is evidence of opportunism & a propensity for trend-hopping. I don’t respect any of the parties represented in this piece.

      1. That does hold any weight and kind of ignorant…. Let’s just keep it at, he’s a piece of shit culture vulture….

        1. Are you joking? How doesn’t it? You fucking idiot. J.ews have been ripping off and capitalizing off black entertainers for years and years

    3. Vlad be on Youtube making 45 minuted videos and chopping them up into 9-5 minutes videos just for click counts. I was listening to the episode with Malcolm X’s daughter and he kept trying to get her to blame Farrakhan for his death. She took the high road though.

    4. I been saying this shyt. vlad will let you spew racism on his website but the second you talk about him he will delete your comment. he says he doesn’t care about the comments but he really does. they get under his skin. he is still salty because he got his ears stomped together by rick ross and company. they beat him like a old Virginia slave…. they put hands and feet on vlad…played a friendly game of kickball with his face…cleaned his clock real properlike and all that

      1. I said some disrespectful things about VLAD yesterday on that Killa J interview and VLAD blocked me and had Disqus block my account from posting under that user-name. How do I know, because that was the last comment I left before I went home from work. Smh. He’s a real piece of shit.

    5. Vlad has given alot of my favourite 90’s rappers a platform to tell their stories. Alot of people wouldn’t have heard of Lord Jamal, kam, nore etc and their contribution to hiphop if not for him.
