Despite insisting she’s the “most talented female rapper,” Azealia Banks says she’s quitting rap. On Friday (June 21), the controversial artist headed to Instagram where she emphatically stated her rapping days were behind her.
Banks feels people are more interested in her dramatic rants and any potential “bad news” about her than the music she creates.
“you guys will ALWAYS BE MORE CONCERNED WITH BAD NEWS ABOUT ME THAN ANY OF THE PHENOMENAL MUSIC I MAKE BECAUSE ITS HOW YOU’VE BEEN TAUGHT TO RELATE TO ME,” she wrote in all caps. “IT DOESNT MATTER HOW GOOD MY MUSIC IS I KNOW YOU GUYS DONT DESERVE IT.”
She ended with, “YOU WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER BODY OF AZEALIA BANKS WORK AGAIN. HEAR ME!?!”
Banks dove into further detail in the lengthy caption attached to the screenshot.
“Stop asking,” she said in part. “I’m clearly not ever going to release music again. I’m entirely too good for 3/4 of the public. They don’t deserve me and I don’t deserve to have my life’s purpose attached to ‘having to work three times as hard as a white woman’ lmfao FOH.
“How about I don’t work at all collect ebt and make a multi million dollar shit talk YouTube channel effectively making an exponentially higher amount of money than I’d make ‘working three times as hard.'”
After a fan pointed out Banks was responsible for the positions she’s in, she quickly claimed the title of the “most intelligent” and “MOST talented” female rapper while defending her behavior. She says people don’t like her because she’s “conventionally ugly and black.”
“You all will find out when it is too late and I’ve married a Russian and get to raise my kids in a fancy Siberian underground bunker while you all scramble to get indoors for 6pm curfew under us martial law,” she wrote in another post.
