Aries Spears Responds To Lizzo’s VMA’s Speech: ‘Was She Talkin’ About Me?’

Aries Spears has responded to Lizzo‘s 2022 MTV Video Music Awards speech that many fans think contained a subliminal shot aimed in his direction.

Speaking to VLAD TV, the former MADtv comedian said he was aware of the narrative circulating that Lizzo’s comments about her “haters” was a direct response to his interview a few days earlier when he body-shamed the “Truth Hurts” singer and said she looked like “the shit emoji.”

“Well, the funny thing to me was people sent me those videos and clips, and you know, this is the internet,” he said. “People put shit together, ‘Lizzo claps back at Aries,’ she never said my name.”

Aries Spears continued, seemingly fat-shaming Lizzo while remarking on the fact he isn’t the sole perpetrator when it comes to individuals using the Grammy Award-winning singer’s weight as the punchline for ill-intended jokes.

“Now, was she talkin’ about me?,” he said rhetorically. “Put the pieces together. More than likely. But she never said my name and I ain’t the only mutherfucka making Lizzo fat jokes. So, she was addressing all of her haters.

“I almost wish she did say my name to really make it specific, but she didn’t say my name! And you know what’s funny to me, too, ’cause you know, the women that hit me up in my Instagram was like ‘Yeah… I know you mad, huh? You punchin’ the air!'”

Lizzo Addresses ‘Ugly Dudes With No Bitches’ Who Use Her Name As An Insult

On August 28, while accepting a VMA award for her single “About Damn Time,” Lizzo purportedly addressed the comments Aries Spears made earlier last month by flaunting her wins and thanking her loyal fanbase.

“[Your vote] means everything to make a change in this country,” Lizzo said. “So, remember when you’re voting for your favorite artists, vote to change some of these laws that are oppressing us. Now, to the bitches that got something to say about me in the press … I’m not gonna say nothing! Why don’t you clap back? Because bitch, I’m winning.”

Lizzo later doubled down on the statements in a tweet, writing: “Lemme make one thing VERY clear—I wasn’t addressing anybody in the my speech last night…I was addressing EVERYBODY.”

    1. sad part is all those fat women will turn against Lizzo the moment she is diagnosed with Type 2 and either has to lose weight or lose a leg – they turned against Adele. these toxic fans online are total weirdos. Lizzo shouldn’t think anyone asking her to lose weight is a hater. they are just genuinely concerned for her health and the health of other young women who go down the stupid fat road. pretty soon Lizzo gone need a scooter and a cane smh – industry don’t care

      1. the bitch is the defintion of a porker. she does nothing to assist or aid anyone that dealing with obiesity. shes a fuckin wreck

        1. you sound stupid yourself – what are you 5 years old? Lizzo at least has a pretty face a nice voice and has millions in the bank. from her songs you’re just an online loser trying to be disrespectful for no real reason acting like she answers to you. she doesn’t. you’re a hateful prck I can tell by your comment, i’m just a music fan

          1. I think society has a twisted outlook on this specific matter. We are all about health and taking care of yourself in this day and age. Things like organic and gluten free have all become big buzzwords thrown around and yet, people want to make obese women feel comfortable. Look, I get it, we live in the day and age of acceptance and that’s fantastic, but we also need to understand that being unhealthy is still being unhealthy and shouldn’t be a part of any sort of beauty trend. The second you do that, that’s when people think it’s ok to be obese and overweight. You honestly see it now and I personally think it’s sad. Teenagers these days that are fat are taking pictures in cut off shirts showing off their belly and small booty shorts that barely fit. This has become the norm…

      2. Addressing someone on their weight out of genuine concern is one thing. Body shaming and calling them names is another. If you are not the solution then you are the problem. The way to get ppl to listen and take your advise, is not by being mean disrespectful and name calling

      3. Adele NEVER got the hate and disrespect that Lizzo gets!! I find that to be very interesting. Adele says she went on a diet, I guarantee you she had gastric surgery, but if that’s what makes her happy that’s her business.

    2. Lizzo is morbidly obese. Let’s embrace diabetes, hypertension etc! Fuck health, let’s just not hurt anyone feelings. Also, she has ocen mitts for t!ts.

        1. Why tf u care if she is or isn’t ?? Don’t you got other things to do with ur life than caring about celebs weight

    3. Society definitely has a twisted outlook on things period but especially weight. In this current society if you are not skinny then you are on your death bed. People assume that all overweight people have diabetes, hypertension etc etc. For all y’all know she could have a thyroid issue. Have anyone looked at her medical records? Fat doesn’t always mean unhealthy. I’m a nurse and I have taken care of many skinny and what society considers normal weight patients that have Hypertension, diabetes and other ailments. People are not going to be satisfied until Lizzo commits suicided from all the pressure. Thankfully she appears to be a very strong person. Society wants to force everyone to look the way they think they should look. These people go and get weight loss surgery and then end of dying years later from vitamin deficiency and malnutrition but NOBODY is talking about that!!! Shame on everyone in this forum that isn’t healthy, that doesn’t have a BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 and if you do have a healthy BMI shame on you for criticizing someone who doesn’t!!!

    4. The fact that men get away with fat shaming a woman when they are fat as hell themselves is damn right comical in itself!!! Arie Spears is FAT as hell, I don’t remember him being this fat when he first came out but look at him now!! How in the hell is he going to write any fat jokes unless he write them about his fat ass!!! People so desperate to try not to be fat that they are doing keto this, organic that, gluten free, vegan, really don’t even know what they are actually putting in their mouth but think they are being healthy. I know of a surgeon that said he HATES doing surgery on Vegans because their organs are so thin. Don’t kill the messenger!!!
