Apollo Brown and Locksmith have released their collaborative EP, No Question, via Mello Music Group.
In a recent interview, Lock told HipHopDX the eight-track project was recorded in less than a week during sessions in Brown’s hometown of Detroit.
“He played me the beats, and he had a vision of these different beats,” Lock said. “I just let the music dictate the lyrics and flow … It’s really grown-up music, it’s really dense.”

Acclaimed producer Apollo Brown is joining forces with lyrical dynamo Locksmith for a new project titled No Question. The eight-track EP is scheduled to drop on June 15 via Mello Music Group, and the duo has dropped the title track as a preview of what’s to come.
The pairing with Locksmith continues Brown’s streak of working with esteemed lyricists on collaborative projects. In recent years, the Detroit beatsmith has put out albums with Skyzoo, Ras Kass, Planet Asia, O.C. and Ghostface Killah.
“I feel like this project is the perfect marriage between beats and rhymes,” Locksmith told HipHopDX. “Apollo is a master of his craft and I’m just honored to work with him.”

OOOOOhhhh ish , this should be hella good!!!
Smh this is “real hip-hop” all the loosers on this site complain never get posted but they’re too busy complaining about Lil Skies and Lil Pump. Fake azz dumb ass fake fanz!!!
Can’t wait. Lock been beastin since the front line days.
HHDX skips over a lot of underground shit, but they are pretty good about showing Mello Music support. I’ve got every Apollo collab project in my library. I’ve been aware of Locksmith since about ’09 when he had a song called “Rare Form” in rotation on MTV Jams (even had that one as my Myspace song at the time, lol), but haven’t really kept up with his career since then at all, even though when on occasion I stumble on one of his videos on Youtube its always fire. Well I’ll definitely be checking this out, maybe it will make me a fan of Locksmith and check out his other work.
I downloaded the iTunes single and it’s fire. Can’t wait for the whole album
Pure flames, its about that time!
This is dope. Looking forward to more Locksmith
Yall meant to say album right?…take notes all of you claiming surgical summer is anything but ep’s
This is a great moment, summer ’18.
I have to say this is better put together production wise than Nasir, but Nasir is slightly better in terms of depth in lyrics. 4/5
Apollo you did it again bro!! An amazing album ..Production ! Lyrics ! Content!! Locksmith did an amazing job and they both flow well together. This is one of my favorite Apollo albums since the easy truth with SKyzoo. He consistently drops classics with no pub, just straight HIP HOP in its truest essence. As a 40 year old who still listens and loves Hip Hop Thank you !! Its good to see that the art form is still alive and well and that there are TRUE MC’s who continue to keep the culture MOVING FORWARD!!! Salute!
Damn, this has better production than Nasir. This is the types of beats Nas needs to rap over.
