Ameer Vann Exits Brockhampton Following Sexual Misconduct & Abuse Allegations

Ameer Vann is out of Brockhampton. The group announced his exit from the group in light of allegations of abuse and sexual misconduct on Sunday (May 27).

“Ameer is no longer in Brockhampton,” the statement reads. “We want to sincerely apologize to the victims affected by Ameer’s actions. We were lied to, and we’re sorry for not speaking up sooner. We do not tolerate abuse of any kind. This is not a solution to their suffering, but we hope this is a step in the right direction. We are going to cancel the remaining dates of our current US tour to go home and regroup.”

Brockhampton began their U.S. tour on Friday (May 25) and had dates scheduled through August 3. Videos of the group performing at the Boston Calling Music Festival showed them staying silent during Vann’s verses and breaking down during parts of the performance.

Allegations of Vann abusing women and having a sexual relationship with a minor surfaced earlier this month. In a series of tweets, he apologized to the people he hurt but denied any criminal wrongdoing.

“In response to the claims of emotional and sexual abuse: although my behavior has been selfish, childish, and unkind, I have never criminally harmed anyone or disrespected their boundaries,” he wrote. “I have never had relations with a minor or violated anybody’s consent.”

Brockhampton’s Kevin Abstract has said the group’s upcoming album PUPPY, which was scheduled to be released in June, will likely be pushed back.

“We’re probably gonna push the album back, but I still want a single to come out next month,” Abstract said in a recent livestream. “Having to deal with family problems in front of the world is very difficult, and I’m sorry if this isn’t enough. It’s heavy and I also understand if you’re mad and completely over it. I should have said something, I shouldn’t have been quiet for so long.”

    1. This is bs. I had tickets to see them in june. Why cancel the tour? That only happened to me one other time – Wu Tang in 97. i didnt get to see them for 20 years. There is a big difference in seeing someone at their height and seeing them even a few years later. I hope t regroup and go back on tour quick. Plus hes a rapper. Hate to say it but this is a harsh penalty for a rapper whos not even charged with anything

      1. Less of your pedo sympathizing please. There’s a special place in hell for pieces of shit who mess with kids.

        1. The allegations that he messed with any minor is unfounded and the allegation states that he possibly had relations with a 17 year old at the age of 18.
If this is the line in the sand where we start branding people pedophiles then fuck me we have a pedophile epidemic happening at every high school in the world.

      2. THERE IS NO WAY ANYONE WHO SAW WU TANG IN 97 WOULD GO SEE THESE GUYS HAHAHA IS THIS THE RUSSIANS???

    2. TFW you spend $15 million on a groups and get a #MeToo hot potato set to explode right after.
