Akademiks isn’t a fan of Lil Baby‘s recent single “Heyy,” and he’s called out the 4PF leader’s friends for enabling him and his decision to put it out.
The controversial media personality took aim at the It’s Only Me cut after a video surfaced on Wednesday (July 19) of Baby previewing the single in the studio alongside a bunch of his friends.

“Heyy” served as the second single off Lil Baby’s sophomore effort, 2022’s It’s Only Me, with the coinciding music video dropping in October. It’s Only Me features appearances from Future, Young Thug, EST Gee and more, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 216,000 first-week sales. The tape has since been certified platinum. As a single, “Heyy” peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100.
This isn’t the first time Akademiks has targeted Baby’s talents. Last December the pair were at odds after Ak referred to the “Yes Indeed” hitmaker as “Short Bus Baby.” The internet personality then accused Lil Baby of chickening out of a fight after challenging him during a live stream and showed alleged DM’s and text messages to prove it.

“This is Lil Baby, yesterday” Ak said on a live stream at the time. “‘Send me the addy,’ and today that’s when I seen it… I said ‘I love you too, let me know if you’re in New York.’ That’s how I responded. ‘Just let me know if you’re in New York.’
“I’m not gonna show you the address that he sent me, I don’t wanna dox him in case somebody he knows lives there. But he sends me an address and he says, ‘Yo I’m in New York.’ So I said, ‘Alright, cool.’ He said, ‘Let me know where you are I’ll come to you,’ so I said, ‘Alright, fine.’”
Ak claimed he was ready and willing to meet Lil Baby in the Big Apple, but later found out he wasn’t even in the city. “I said, ‘I’ma be here and I got a stream at three, come on!’” he continued. “N-gga not even in New York. Typical rapper shit.”
Baby hasn’t responded to Ak’s latest dig, but the insult comes as the Atlanta rapper continues to experience woes related to his latest tour, which is set to kick off on July 26 in Houston. Lil Baby unexpectedly canceled a slew of upcoming tour dates without explanation earlier this week, angering fans on social media.

Per the Daily Loud, shows in Phoenix, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Denver, Indianapolis, Louisville and Pittsburgh were axed even though fans reportedly spent $200 on tickets to see him perform.
Matters were then made worse after opener The Kid LAROI announced he’d no longer be embarking on the 24-city trek. LAROI’s exit now leaves GloRilla, Rylo Rodriguez, Gloss Up and Hunxho on the bill as supporting acts.
