Akademiks Adamant Drake Won Kendrick Lamar Feud Despite Popular Consensus

Akademiks is refusing to budge from his endorsement of Drake in the rapper’s feud with Kendrick Lamar, which escalated to unprecedented heights last weekend.

During an appearance on the Flagrant podcast that was published on Wednesday (May 8), the streamer made a case for why Drizzy got the better of K.Dot over their heated back-and-forth.

“The rules aren’t the same for both artists,” he explained to host Andrew Schulz at the 1:32:33 mark below. “‘Like That’ was a response to a song called ‘First Person Shooter’ — he drops ‘Like That,’ Drake has never ducked a battle. He’s always been there, right? It’s been like two weeks, Drake didn’t say anything. You know what everyone says: ‘He’s scared.’ This what I’m saying [about] changing the rules.

“Okay, Drake drops — it’s two weeks now, we’re waiting for Kendrick. ‘Yo, chill out, yo, he just takes a while to cook.’ Like what people think about both artists doing the same thing, just taking time to create music.”

He added: “I do like this ‘Not Like Us’ record, I like this record, but I’ma be honest with you. The majority of this battle before we got to this, was Kendrick Lamar sitting back and saying, ‘I’m going to pick you apart as a man — they very fabric of what you portray [yourself] to be. You’ve stolen culture, you’re a bad parent, you’ve made the same mistakes and you won’t live up the responsibility.’

“And you’re looking at him, like. ‘Damn, maybe this guy is a fraud,’ so now if [these are all] completely lies …”

Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s feud has produced a number of scathing diss tracks from each side, and Akademiks recently took a closer look at some of the imagery surrounding the music.

Earlier this month, soon after the Compton native responded to his adversary’s “Family Matters” diss track within an hour, the online figure went live on Rumble to share his reaction to the back-and-forth. During the stream, he even claimed to receive information from the Los Angeles MC’s team about the meaning behind the cover art for “meet the grahams” (which features what appears to be a prescription for Ozempic in the Canadian superstar’s name), though this has yet to be verified.

“Akademiks got intel from Kendrick’s camp that the details of the cover of ‘Meet the Grahams’ containing a glove, ozempic, receipts etc was stolen from a suitcase that belonged to Dennis Graham, Drake’s father,” the 32-year-old wrote in a TikTok post.

“This cover art contains things that is from Drake’s pops’ suitcase, so Drake’s pops’ suitcase had these things in it,” he said. “Don’t know how he got a hold of it, don’t know how this happened to get in Kendrick’s hand. But apparently Kendrick Lamar must’ve got a hold of Drake’s dad’s suitcase. So we’re talking about Dennis Graham, which is Drake’s pops […] remember all that talk about leaks in the camp?”

Prior to that, the 32-year-old’s objectivity regarding the drama was even challenged on Kendrick’s “6:16 in LA” joint with the bar: “Yeah, somebody’s lyin’, I can see the vibes on Ak/ Even he lookin’ compromised.”

    1. This man literally rage quit his own stream after “Meet the Grahams” dropped lol, now he’s explaining how Drake won!?!? Drake lost, it’s surprising but he lost. And I’m not a Drake ‘hater’ by any means. I have plenty of his songs on my Spotify. But again, he lost and was bullied in the process

    2. We’d have flying cars and cancer cures next year if that podcast set had gone up in flames with these awful people inside.

    3. Akademiks is the only n**** I know that looks like a Gay Teletubby and ACTUALLY still manages to look like fat chipmunk with a mouth full of nuts at the same time.

    4. Buying off media is a prime example of why people dislike Drake. Ak and Mal have lost all credibility.

    5. Karenn Sing is a h0 m0, a fraud and a pathetic Indlan vulture who really needs to off himself immediately says:

Wackafemics, over rated af fruit cake Drake and the entire DUNCECAPD/X shit staff are all hot garbage

    6. Drake won….his 2nd L. He proved he is ass by remixing Thong Song using Fetty Wap flows for a diss track. He is not battle ready. If he survives this beef, he is better off ignoring diss tracks and continue making his weak ass music.
