6LACK has tapped into his inner Kendrick Lamar with his new album teaser, which features a Dropbox-style website similar to the way K. Dot teased Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.
6LACK continued to tease the release of his long-awaited third album after initially enlisting some of Atlanta’s water boys to help promote it by passing out roses with small notes that read, “See you soon, love 6LACK.”

The new teaser from the R&B singer, which dropped on Monday (February 20), features a Dropbox-style link that contains numerous folders, one of which reveals the cover art to 6LACK’s new album — which is titled S.I.H.L. and will drop in March.
The album itself is password protected, but a pre-order link via Interscope’s website also appeared online. Further details, however, remain scarce.

Kendrick Lamar pulled a similar stunt to kickstart the rollout of Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers last April, sharing a Dropbox link on his personal website oklama.com.
The site was updated with a new page called “The Heart” which contained 399 folders, most of which were inaccessible. Fans pieced together that “The Heart” implied that Kung Fu Kenny would soon be releasing “The Heart Part 5,” which he did on May 8.

6LACK has been quiet on the music front these past few years. His last full length album, East Atlanta Love Letter, dropped back in 2018 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning 77,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. It was also certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in December 2020.
His debut album, Free 6LACK, was released in 2016 and was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
Regardless, 6LACK has been keeping busy as he chips away on his third project. He’s been a featured artist on numerous songs over the past four years, most recently dropping a verse on Jaquees’ “Tell Me It’s Over.”
The Atlanta native was also busy building up his mental health campaign, announcing a partnership with Mental Health America of Los Angeles and the global therapy service BetterHelp in October 2021.

The partnership sought to provide mental health resources and information for Black communities, with 6LACK donating six months of therapy sessions to 50 BIPOC (black, indigenous, and other people of color) students in MHALA’s Transition-Age Youth Program.
“The last few years have been pretty tough on the brain, heart, and spirit,” 6LACK wrote on Instagram, along with a video message announcing his mental health partnership.
