6ix9ine Addresses ‘Cowardly’ Gym Beatdown: ‘I Never Knew We Respected Jumping People’

6ix9ine has addressed his viral gym beatdown for the first time, and he didn’t mince his words while discussing the men who reportedly participated in the attack.

The rainbow-haired rapper (real name Daniel Hernandez) called his attackers “cowardly” in an Instagram post and remarked that he “never knew we respected jumping people. When did that ever become a W?”

But he was also quick to remark that he wasn’t “mad about being jumped” as there are “no rules” when it comes to the street life. “I can’t say they were wrong,” he said in his Instagram caption.

6ix9ine also claimed that he “never hid from anything,” and confirmed that he’d been walking around without security for the past two years.

“If you ever crossed my path or ever came to my house (you girls know who you are) ya can tell the world “Danny drives his own cars and be solo,” he wrote. “You know how many of you people seen me in real life by myself in gas stations, supermarkets, restaurants, etc.”

The “GUMMO” rapper can take comfort, however, in knowing that his alleged attackers have been arrested for the crime.

On March 30, Rafael Medina Jr., 43; Octavious Medina, 23; and Anthony Maldonado, 25, were taken into custody in Palm Beach County, Florida. Jail records show that the trio was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on assault and robbery charges.

The rapper’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, said his client tried to fight off the attackers but was outnumbered and badly beaten before he managed to flee. He did not have security with him at the time.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene after gym staff heard the commotion, resulting in 6ix9ine being taken via ambulance to a local hospital.

A photo of 6ix9ine’s injuries provided an even closer look at his swollen, bruised, and bloodied face. He also reportedly suffered injuries to his jaw, ribs and back.

The day after his alleged attackers were taken into custody, 6ix9nine dropped the visuals for his new song, “Bori.” In the clip, 6ix9ine visits Cuba and gets his philanthropy on as he gives out $50,000 in American dollars to the locals.

Never one not to capitalize on a viral moment – whether good or bad – he’s also seen getting medical treatment for the injuries sustained in the beatdown. Footage of the Brooklyn native taking a hike in Cuba surfaced shortly after the attack, with the “Bori” video now giving more context as to why he was there.
