6ix9ine has denied suggestions that his recent gym attack was staged, and said viral footage of the altercation is “tough to watch.”

The rainbow-haired rapper sat down with NBC 6 South Florida on Wednesday (April 5) for his first interview since he was attacked by a group of men at an LA Fitness in the Sunshine State last month.

“For me, it was tough to watch because it was so unexpected. It’s cowardly,” 6ix9ine said. “When I look at it, I just see hate, right? Imagine being someone who doesn’t know someone from a hole in the wall. I’ll give you an example: today is the first day that I meet you, I don’t know you from anywhere, I could have heard something about you that I may have an opinion on, but I don’t know you to hate you.”

He continued: “Does that give me the right to attack you? To ambush you? I think it was cowardly. I think it was opportunistic, but again I’m not mad because I know in the streets there are no rules. I’m at a loss for words because they saw an opportunity and they took it.”

6ix9ine went on to say that the attack was calculated and that they cornered him in the sauna and blocked his only exit. He reaffirmed his past statement that he wasn’t going to up his security detail after the attack, which he clarified wasn’t staged.

“I think life just keeps going,” he said. “I can capitalize off of anything, I’m that talented. I don’t need to get beat up to sell a record.”

Three men — Rafael Medina Jr., 43; Octavious Medina, 23; and Anthony Maldonado, 25 — have been arrested on assault and robbery charges over the March 21 attack, which was caught on camera.

Footage posted on Instagram showed 6ix9ine lying on the floor protecting his head as two men stood over him and kicked and punched him.

“Bitch ass! Clown ass n-gga!” one of the men could be heard shouting while roughing up the “GUMMO” rapper. “Take a picture! I want to be famous now, n-gga!”

6ix9ine also told NBA 6 South Florida that his decision to cooperate with the federal government’s case against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang back in 2019 was an easy decision to make, and if asked to do it again would say yes.

“No, I wouldn’t do anything differently,” he replied when asked if he would have handled his case differently. “There’s just people full of hate that doesn’t know the real story, what’s documented in court. Because facts are facts, right?

He continued: “If we looked up 9/11, the Twin Towers, we can look up that document of when the plane crashed. And when you look at all the facts in the documents and transcripts of my court case, you see the so-called friends and the people that I surrounded myself with, they have this code, a street code, rules that they follow, which means loyalty, respect, integrity, principles you stand on, right?

“You don’t kidnap them, you don’t rob them, you don’t sleep with their significant other. Those things you just don’t do and if we’re gonna say that there’s code’s to the streets and 6ix9ine broke it by cooperating or snitching, I think we should hold everyone accountable.”
