50 Cent has been praised by the police force in Shreveport, LA, over his Humor & Harmony Festival.
According to TMZ, Fif and his crew did a great job keeping the event running smoothly.
Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith told TMZ: “I haven’t seen this type of positive activity downtown since the late 80s!”
TMZ added: “50 and his team were instrumental in keeping the event safe with good planning, resources and masterful execution.”
Additionally, Smith called 50 after the festival wrapped to express his appreciation.
The G-Unit icon was joined by Jeremih, Muni Long, Katt Williams and more for the inaugural gathering.
The festival occurred amid the launch of his G-Unit Film Studios in the Louisiana city.
In addition to the aforementioned names, the lineup also included comedians DC Young Fly, Gary Owens and Bill Bellamy as well as performances by Cam’ron, French Montana, 2 Chainz and more.
“You don’t want to miss this over 29,000 people have registered already,” 50 wrote on Instagram upon unveiling the lineup. “Go to Humor HarmonyWeekend.Com Boom 36,000 Super Bowl of comedy, music. Wait till you see who’s confirmed.”
When 50 Cent shared the lineup, his team unveiled a “three-phase” initiative that involved the artist and mogul investing directly into the people and the community. In fact, he already kicked off the first part of the process, which saw him revitalizing a number of properties in downtown Shreveport.
Gerod Durden, the real estate broker helping the G-Unit execute the revitalization process, revealed that the “In Da Club” hitmaker plans on buying and renovating about two dozen commercial properties.
“He is very passionate about the city,” Durden said. “I would say ten or more properties that we’ve already closed a few of this week. It’ll be an additional ten or so. These are all-cash offers. You know, there’s quite a few entertainment spots for not only adults and kids.
“He’s bringing a big jump park here. I mean, it’s a substantial size park. We’re looking at a grocery store in the immediate downtown Shreveport area, and those are ideas that we come up with together with the whole team. What can help the community?”
His world tour went off without a hitch and now a three day festival. Is it just luck or does he not just have the right team surrounding him. Carry on!!!
I honestly thought 50 would end up a broke ass clown when he came out. But really he’s proven to be more successful and respectable from anyone from that era. Ja Rule and murder inc turned out to be a Bozo sausage fest, DMX died of his crack addiction and ruff riders disappeared, Nelly knocked up Ashanti and got busted with e at almost 50, Diddy’s a disgrace, Eminem is a washed up predictable has been, Jay Z is a myth and Kanye is a bipolar psychopath… and where is everybody else and who cares about them? 50 branched out and grasped everything… TV, movies, music, liquor, sports drinks, neighborhoods… it wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up even more successful than Jay Z after all is said and done.
Dave Chappelle was there too!
Good for 50. Seriously.
