50 Cent‘s popular spinoff series Power Book II: Ghost has officially been renewed for a fourth season.

STARZ announced the renewal on Monday (January 30) shortly before the show’s third season premieres on March 17. The platform also announced that the show would be adding Michael Ealy as a series regular starting in season four, which is currently in production in New York.

Ealy will play the part of Detective Don Carter, an NYPD officer set to become Police Commissioner until his wife’s murder via drug gangs. Vowing to make the streets safer, Carter now leads an NYPD drug task force.

Power Book II: Ghost continues to resonate with our viewers and we’re thrilled to get season four production underway ahead of our season three debut,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for Starz. “It’s clear our fans are ready to devour more of this explosive series and we look forward to having Michael join our incredible cast.”

The blockbuster STARZ series was renewed for a third season last December and was announced via a flattering statement from the company’s CEO Jeffrey Hirsch.

“The continued success and cultural resonance of the Power universe is unprecedented, and fans are clearly still hungry for more Power Book II: Ghost,” Hirsch said in the statement. “We’re excited for the third season of the star-studded series to get into production early next year just ahead of the debut Power Book IV: Force, the fourth installment in the rapidly expanding franchise.”

50 Cent immediately took to his socials to celebrate the announcement with a tweet that read, “Season 3 on the way, BOOM, GLG, GreenLightGang.”

The veteran rapper and media mogul has continued to expand the Power universe to impressive lengths. He dropped another spin-off last February titled Power Book IV: Force and even recorded the spin-off’s theme song. Since the new series followed Tommy Egan departing New York for Chicago following Ghost’s death, 50 Cent grabbed two of Chicago’s biggest stars to help pen the theme — Lil Durk and Jeremih.

“Ok the FORCE theme song is done,” Fif wrote on Instagram on November 29. “Me @lildurk and @jeremih coming soon! BOOM Chi-Town vibes GreenLightGang @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”

In other 50 Cent news, he announced earlier in January that one of his next projects would be an 8 Mile TV series to help further Eminem’s “legacy,” though details at the moment remain scarce.

“I’m gonna bring, 8 Mile to television,” 50 said in a radio interview, confirming that Em is aware of his plans.

“We in motion,” 50 said after being asked what stage of production the show is in. “It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100 … I think it should be there for [Eminem’s] legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”
