Dexter Isaac, who is currently serving life in prison at Riker’s Island, recently opened up to Gully TV about a myriad of topics, including the infamous 1994 Quad Records Studios shooting of Tupac Shakur. In the interview, Isaac claims one of Tupac’s closest friends, Live Squad member Stretch, was behind the attack.
Isaac — who is one of the self-confessed shooters — says Jimmy Henchman paid Stretch $2,500 to orchestrate the whole thing.
“Stretch set the whole thing up,” Isaac says in the clip. “He was in cahoots and was giving us the play-by-play. He was in communication with Jimmy [Henchman] who had promised him a quarter brick of cocaine.”
The Quad Records Studio shooting took place on November 30, 1994, the day before the verdict in ‘Pac’s sexual assault case was to be announced. The late Hip Hop legend was shot five times inside the lobby of the studio.
After he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, ‘Pac underwent emergency surgery but left three hours later against doctor’s orders. The next day, ‘Pac showed up to the hearing in a wheelchair and was found guilty on three counts of molestation.
In an 1995 interview with Vibe Magazine, ‘Pac pointed the finger at Henchman, Biggie and Diddy. However, the evidence didn’t support Biggie’s involvement.
‘Pac reportedly felt betrayed by Stretch for not stepping in at the time of the attack despite Stretch being unarmed. Stretch was later killed in a drive-by shooting on November 30, 1995 — exactly one year after ‘Pac was shot — and many believe it was retaliation for the Quad Records Studio attack.
‘Pac addressed the incident on the All Eyez On Me track “Holla At Me.”
“How could you do me like that?/I took your family in/I put some cash in your pocket/Made you a man again/And now you let the fear put your ass in a place/Complicated to escape, it’s a fools fate/Without your word, you’re a shell of a man/I lost respect for you nigga/We can never be friends,” he raps.
Revisit the track below.
Ed Lover about to come out crying again. “My man Stretch would never do that! That’s lies!” C’mon Son. You sure about that son?
You forgot to mention how Stretch was murdered, execution style a year later on the day of the Quad shooting.
It says it right in the article, you illiterate motherfucker
They said drice by tho
What did you read?
“In an 1995 interview” should be “In *a* 1995 interview”
But WHY did they want him dead???
Pac had beef with a snitch and FBI informant named Haitian Jack. Haitian Jack real name Jacques Agnant was real good friends with Jimmy Henchman. It’s a long deep story behind all that shit.
Pac was wilding out. Apparently, the setup was not to kill him that night but to humiliate him after they robbed and beat him because Pac had pulled some guns at a traffic stop or something when they were together. Then Pac talked to a NY reporter off the record, and they felt like that was disrespectful because as bitch made as he is, Henchman is a real gangster. Pac was not, just was a crazy motherfucker who didn’t give a fuck. Henchman went by that street code shit and felt he needed to be checked. Same shit happened in LA with some Crips way back before he really blew up too but Mutulu or Geronimo Pratt squashed that shit from inside with their street connections to the OGs. So Pac did put himself out there by just being a regular dude without all of this security and being crazy, which endeared him to his fans, but also is unfortunately what got him shot the first time and eventually killed.
Shut up fool. I’m a Pac fan. I’m just saying that he wasn’t a street gangsta. That doesn’t make him fake or not real. It’s what made Pac authentic is that he didn’t give a fuck and wouldn’t back down from anyone, but at the same time, he wasn’t affiliated with street gangs or criminal organizations like that until he got to Death Row, and even then it was on a peripheral level. There was a more blurry line in that respect back then because rap stars were not rolling around with security forces and shit, and pac did not talk shit and then hide behind an entourage of security like dudes today do. Others talk about him snapping on dope boys in Ohio, Detroit, etc. Hell, even going back to his Oakland days, he pissed off street dudes there locally. Same thing like I said about when he first got to LA. Some Crips got pissed with him and wanted to kill him but the beef got squashed by the OGs through his stepfather or godfather. This was a regular occurrence with Pac, and as he got bigger, it put a target on his back. Again, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t real, but it just meant that you have some of these dope boys and street tied in dudes who would kill anybody over nothing, which is why they are bad people. Those kinds of people put a price on his head….it’s what happened.
Wrong Pac was always gang affiliated before the Deathrow Days. Pac was Rollin around with Crips when he had his Thug Life group.
No he wasn’t. He was cool with gang members and shit, but Pac wasn’t affiliated. Even dudes who used to be up at Death Row who were Bloods and shit said as much that Pac wasn’t affiliated and didn’t come from that lifestyle. If you’re from places like LA, Albuquerque, Southside Chicago, Memphis, Little Rock, you know what I’m talking about. People from places like that know there is an ever-present gang culture of those places that you just know and is a part of you if you grew up in the hood whether you get affiliated or not, and back then, rap stars weren’t the biggest stars in the world. They were hood dudes that just hung out in all of the grimiest places with no security on them when they weren’t doing music promo.
That’s messed and crazy. Some of Pacs best songs are with stretch. Pain and It Hurts The Most. RIP Pac and Stretch
Well Pac n Stretch are not here so this dude might be lying. We’ll never know.
He’s not. Pac knew this. Hell, Stretch allegedly was relaying messages from Henchmen about they were going to kill him. It’s where that last line on Makaveli about getting his money right if he wants war came from because Stretch told him that. Also, Pac didn’t blame Biggie and Puffy. He said Biggie knew what was up and was supposed to be his homie but didn’t say shit to him on his way up there that night, and Puffy was in on it too, just like the shit with the Crips out West. Biggie was more like I’m rolling with these dudes because this my label boss, fuck if you were my homie when I was coming up, which is some snake shit however you cut it.
When Pac was still alive he said in interviews that Stretch was his best homie but he betrayed him. Stretch was a snake. Leave it at that.
Closest friends can betray you
PAC DIED IN 96 YALL
Still did more than your living ass will ever do so chill you corny fuck.
I can believe it. Just like in Prodigy book when he said Cadillac Tah was letting them know where ja rule was
I always skipped Holla At Me cause I didnt like that chick singing. But then I heard the verses again as an adult. Every verse on that mf is targeted against the people that betrayed him. Its so poignant too. Pac the GOAT.
It is. People need to listen to the lyrics. The finished mixed song and beat are way better than the original demo too.
Pac been dead for 22 years and people still talk about him daily. That’s a GOAT. The greatest in Hip Hop to ever grace the mic.
Tupac is the biggest poser in hip hop history besides Jay Z
Dude was the realest even yo pops a bitch compared to Pac so chill. I agree with Jay tho he a hoe.
H-Town
Tupac was the realest rapper ever in the game.
Pac had been blaming Stretch for getting robbed long before this dickhead Dexter Isaacs had anything to say about it, so he ain’t saying nothin new. Stretch was Pac’s good friend and wouldn’t have set him up like that for a couple thousand dollars. Pac would have given Stretch half a mil if he asked him for it and stretch knew that. He didn’t need to set up ‘Pac. Jimmy Henchman and Haitian Jack set Pac up and that’s where it ends. Stretch ain’t need to orchestrate. Jimmy convinced Pac to do a feature for a song at Quad studios, that’s all he orchestrating it required.Crazy how Stretch got murdered exactly a year to the day after Pac got robbed though. Pac…..11/30/1994, Stretch…11/30/1995.
The timing of the shooting was bad just before pacs court case
I’m guessing pac heard about stretch getting killed inside
Pac got out in October 12, 1995 – six weeks before Stretch was killed.
