Black Entertainment Television has created an app related to the 2013 BET Awards. The product provides fans with an interactive way to view and participate in the annual award show. BET’s app features several games, thousands of photos of celebrities, as well as detailed information on all the nominees, winners, honorees, and memorable moments from the shows entire 12-year history.
The BET Awards ‘13 app also gives fans a chance to win a number of prizes including a celebrity gift bag, autographed t-shirts, and the official BET Award Show microphone. Fans can win these awards by playing games within the app such as “The Lineup” which provides users with a “co-viewing” experience where people can predict the order of performances before the show starts, or through the leader-board game “The Hustle,” based on the user’s activity level on the app. Users can also vote for the Coca-Cola Viewer Choice Award winner through the downloaded app.
Airing live, Sunday June 30, at 8P/7C, on BET, the 2013 BET Awards will be hosted by actor/comedian Chris Tucker. T.I., Justin Timberlake, Snoop Lion, Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Chris Brown, R. Kelly, Stevie Wonder, and Kendrick Lamar are among the many artists that will be performing during the show as well.
The BET Awards ’13 app is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android and is available for download now.
