Drake Tops The List Of 2013 BET Awards Nominees, Followed By Kendrick Lamar & 2 Chainz

Toronto crooner/rapper Drake may have found himself with only a handful of nominations during last year’s annual BET Awards, but with the announcement of this year’s nominees, Drake now leads the pack with a grand total of 12 nominations. The rapper is followed closely by both Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz who each received eight nominations.

According to HotNewHipHop.com, the Young Money artist received nominations for Best Collaboration, Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Video Of The Year, and also received nods in nine other categories.

    1. My predictions

      Male R&B artist: Miguel
      Group: The Throne
      Collaboration: Mercy
      Male Hip-Hop Artist: Kendrick Lamar
      Female Hip-Hop Artist: Nicki Minaj
      New Artist: Kendrick Lamar
      Movie: Think Like A Man
      Sportswoman: Serena
      Sportsman: LeBron

If I didn’t mention a category, that means that I don’t know who would win that category.

    2. I was looking at the nominees thinking this was a real award ceremony then I remembered it was for BET. Fuck outta here with this bullshit.

    3. Nicki Minaj is going to win best female hip hop every year. She is the only current mainstream female hip hop artist. The people that BET include in these female hip hop nominations are such a joke. Rye Rye? Rasheeda?. Eve and Azelia Banks aren’t on the radio or doing anything.

      1. Lauryn Hill would take it if she put out more songs. She put out one song that killed everything thats out.

      2. nikki “plastic surgery” minaj is a lock to win these commercial rap awards. however, if you guys want to see some dope female rappers, check out the ones below:

        nitty scott mc
        3d natee
        jane doe
        jean grey

    4. why all these fuckin new artist have dollar signs on their name, like a$ap rocky, trinny jame$, joe bada$$

      1. cause thats what there after

they all going to sell out

joey good tho hope he stays tru

        fuck the industry

action bronson and joey badass the top freshmen this year

    5. shouldn’t macklemore not be nominated cuz its the BET awards (BLACK entertainment television) and he isn’t black

    6. You YMCMB haters are fucking idiots. Because I’m an accountant for Cash Money Records, I spend a lot of time with Birdman. He told me that in 1996, Biggie was looking to get out of his contract with Bad Boy so he could sign with Cash Money. If Cash Money is right for Biggie, then it’s clearly the top record label. Unfortunately, Jay-Z and Diddy found out about Biggie’s upcoming departure and had him shot. Also, Birdman as always a role model for Pac. Most of you don’t know this, but the song Hit Em Up was originally supposed to be Split Em Up, a song where Pac brags about fucking Faith, leading to her breakup with BIG. But Birdman explained to Pac that real gangsta’s talking about killing people, so that’s how Hit Em Up took on such a violent tone.

YMCMB for life. We got the game by the clit!

      1. You YMCMB stans are fucking idiots. Because I’m not an accountant for Cash Money Records, I spend a lot of time sucking Birdman. I fucked him first in 1996, Biggie was looking for a fresh booty to fuck so he was looking to get out of his contract with Bad Boy so he could sign with Cash Money. If Cash Money is right for Biggie, then it’s clearly the worst record label. Unfortunately, Jay-Z and Diddy found about Biggie’s upcoming departure and had him shot. Also, Birdman as always a gay model for Pac. Most of you don’t know this, but the song Hit Em Up was originally supposed to be Gas Em Up, a song where Pac brags about fuking faith, leading to her breakup with BIG. But Birman explained to Pac that real gangsta’s talking about fucking people, so that’s how Hit Em Up took on such a violent sag.

YMCMB for death, We got the fag game by the dick!

    7. im pretty sure many people disliked biggie and made fun of him when he first came out, sure he was good but he wasn’t great. I think people only “loved him” after he died. Most of Rick Ross songs are pretty good and speak of the same subjects. Im also sure that if Rick Ross died he would gain millions of new fans and everyone would honor him like they do Biggie

      Bawse!!!!!!!!

      1. im pretty sure many people loved biggie and fucked with him when he first came out, sure he wasn’t bad but was g.o.a.t. I think people only “hated him” after he died. Most of Rick Ross songs are prety awful and speak of the same subjects. Im also sure if Rick Ross died he would lose millions of new fans everyone would piss on him not like they do Biggie

        Lawse!!!!!!!!

    8. where is STYLES P??????

guy dropped a bunch of mixtapes and an album over the last year and it’s better than damn near everything on that list……..

      1. YOU KNOW!!! REAL HIP-HOP WILL FOREVER BE THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE!!! THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN BET….WHAT KIND OF F*CKERY IS THIS. BET STAY LOSING. smh…. when will they stop following these “illuminati” protocols and agendas…

    9. black entertainment television… racism everyone is okay with.

white entertainment television… scarface and lauryn hill would go on a rampage

      1. its call the Country Music Channel (theres actually 2 whatever the other ones called) then
        MTV, then VHI classics
        so suck on that

      2. Fu$% BET its reverse racism. just like saying Ni**a. people get mad when they are left out.. and retaliate by excluding others.

      3. Scarface and Lauryn Hill aren’t invited to The CMT Country Music Awards, so no need for extra security.

    10. this “award” ceremony is completely meaningless. it’s filled with nothing but sellout artists and horrible songs that only got radio play.. i mean wtf drake is nominated 3 times in the same category? is the selection of music THAT narrow now? probably because it’s all the same bullshit, rapping about nothing but money and hoes and no originality.

i hope people stop sucking so much and listen to real hip hop again because if this is what qualifies for awards.. SMFH

    11. And the Nominees are:
      – YESSIR
      – dentaldamboy
      – YEBO
      – RIcky Rozay
      – So Icy Boi!

      1. For them BET should stand for Butt Eatin’ Trolls and they’re all winners in my book!

    12. Lil Wayne may be hated by you right now but when he dies, everyone will love him. 2pac and biggie were also hated amongst many groups. When they died, they started to praise him even though both of them were terrible rappers who sounds like they are on their last breath. Lil Wayne is smooth, has an interesting variety of subjects, and has a terrific flow.

      1. yah thy should call them pop awards,,some artist havent done shit for a year or 2,,not even an album,,way did drake do to be nominated 50 times,,some bulshit ,im no longer liking thie nonsense,,NAS,LAMAR,GAME been working hard the past years and non of their shit in there,,fuck BET

      2. Even though the BET awards don’t mean shit, Im hoping Kendrick will win these awards to give a tiny bit of hope in the future. How does Drake show up not once, not twice, not three times but FOUR FUCKING TIMES IN COLLABORATIONS! I can understand if Poetic Justice wins because of kendrick (not a big fan of problems but at least has kendrick) but Pop That and No Lie? They are pop songs, not hiphop and Suit and Tie beats both of them. Mercy is dope and is another strong contender. Other than that, who gives a shit about BET awards? I don’t even think the black audience will give a shit.

      3. Forgot to mention the 5 FUCKING TIMES DRAKE APPEARED IN MUSIC VIDEOS!! This shit is like the kids teens who gives a shit choice awards where the only person they give a shit about is Justin Bieber. The BET awards, in this case is kissing Drake’s ass, leaving out many worthy contenders. They should have replaced half of the Drake collaborations with Macklemore’s since these songs are technically from both Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (they also featured artists like Wanz)

    13. Best Male Hip Hop Artist
      2 Chainz
      A$AP Rocky
      Drake
      Future
      Kendrick Lamar

That’s quite the line up of CLOWNS. “Hip Hop artists”?? I don’t think so!! The genre needs a different name because I ain’t hearing any kind of real “hip hop” music dropping these days. It’s a bunch of fucking FAGS running around in the game right now that can’t write or rap for shit and the beats are terrible. If you really think about it, it’s a shame what “hip hop” has become.

    14. This is opperation take all for Kendrick Lamar since his competing with wack rappers as Drake,2Chanz and Asap gay!!!!!

    15. Drake is the god of rap every song needs drake to be good. Tje facts don/t lie the numbers dont lie the awards dont lie. You are a plain hater if you can’t accept that drake is the best rapper alive.

      1. Drake is not the best rapper alive and he’s not the god of rap; that would go to Tupac. You’re being a Drake dickrider.

    16. Drake is the worst artist in the history of music…he can’t sing, he can’t rap, he can’t even dance…he’s a talentless loser that got famous because a bunch of 5 year olds bought his album…i could shit on my mom’s face and it would sound better than his shitty music

    17. Ricky Rozay:
im pretty sure many people disliked biggie and made fun of him when he first came out, sure he was good but he wasn’t great. I think people only “loved him” after he died. Most of Rick Ross songs are pretty good and speak of the same subjects. Im also sure that if Rick Ross died he would gain millions of new fans and everyone would honor him like they do Biggie

      dentaldamboy:

      Same person?

    18. hey little buddy have you seen ryan checkler the kid with the back pack and skateboard oh shes at the game store playing t2 ok thanks

    19. Garbage. Garbage. Garbage.

You can blame whiney white kids all you want. This is BET nominating this garbage. They are just as much a part of the industry as anyone else. No integrity whatsoever. Nicki Minaj does not rap. She is pop. Drake is pop. Except for the one 16 he actually spits, usually on someone elses song.

    20. another commercialized award show…

best new artist: Trinidad James? how? one marginally successful corny song? and joey badass who hasnt had an official studio album? kendrick better win that one

    21. BET IS GAY. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. THEY MIGHT AS WELL GIVE JASON COLLINS AN NOMINATION FOR BEST ATHLETE. FUTURE, DRAKE AND 2CHAINZ IN THE BEST RAPPER??? JOKE AT BEST. KENDRICK LAMAR MUST WIN THIS ONE.

    22. What kind of wack ass, made up category is Nas in? lol They probably announce the winner off camera.

    23. lol why is The Throne still being nominated…drake? his album old now…why bet show no love to tyler the creator? wack

    24. “Drake is not the best rapper alive and he’s not the god of rap; that would go to Tupac”

      2pac’s dead. Ja Rule’s alive.

    25. Big up for the Goodlyfe guys for making it to that extent
“where are the so chameleons and the so called Bebe cool
