2 Chainz, unlike a lot of other rappers, doesn’t seem bothered about aging; contrarily, he is welcoming it with open arms.

On Tuesday (September 12), the Atlanta rapper turned 46 years old and was quick to share how good he felt. That same day, he took to social media to update his fans on his marriage with Kesha Ward and how it has helped him settle into a regular life made up of conventional chores.

“I have a really large yard and I just wanted to cut the grass,” he began. “I’ve never cut the grass; I stayed at apartments my whole life until me and Kesha got together … I was payin’ people to do stuff, so this my first time as a man — it’s kinda crazy but I had a ball!”

The second slide cut to footage of the “I’m Different” hitmaker mowing his grass as his wife cheered him on.

The post’s caption read: “Is this what they mean by getting old [pondering emoji, silly-face emoji, upside-down emoji, blushing emoji, two laugh-crying emojis]. I found this to be very therapeutic !!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!! 9/12 #virgoseason.”

2 Chainz isn’t the first rapper to openly endorse lawnmowing and its character-building benefits. In 2021, Rick Ross told Forbes that his lavish lifestyle is a product of him being selectively frugal. This involves him cutting his own grass using a heavy-duty John Deere tractor.

“I bought a tractor that is enclosed and has air conditioning and a radio,” he said about mowing 235 acres worth of grass at his Georgia estate.

“I had the windows tinted so I wouldn’t cause too much confusion with the traffic right next to the estate. People still know it’s me, but when I get in the tractor, it’s a whole other level of peace, a whole other level of connecting with the estate and the animals and the birds and the wildlife.”

Rick Ross takes solace in the serene experience of cutting his grass, being able to focus on the task and temporarily forgetting about the other obligations in his life for those few hours.

“I sit there and have my cannabis rolled up, and, man, I look at the property and can appreciate my struggles and my triumphs, those rough days,” Ross continued. “For anybody who doesn’t cut their own grass, I would say take time out every two or three months to cut your grass because it is such a great and peaceful sensation.”

Ross also said that he “tries his best to fly Delta” whenever he can, although he has since bought himself a private jet.
