2 Chainz “B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time” Release Date, Tracklist & Production Credits

In August of last year, 2 Chainz released his solo debut, Based On A T.R.U. Story. The Def Jam Records release was subsequently certified gold, and marked a commercial comeback for the founding member of Playaz Circle. At the age of 34 years old, 2 Chainz became one of the hottest new stars in Hip Hop—in large thanks to a name change (from Tity Boi), and critical collaborations with Drake, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj.

In the closing minutes of May 23, 2 Chainz revealed that his follow-up is coming just 13 months since his debut. The Atlanta, Georgia-based rapper tweeted that fans can circle September 10 on their calendars. He also tweeted “Features On Halt,” though that is presently not believed to be the actual title of the album.

UPDATE: After a busy week in the media, 2 Chainz has now given his September 10 sophomore solo album a title. The Atlanta, Georgia-based rapper was victim to an attempted robbery at gunpoint earlier this week. That incident happened shortly before the Def Jam Records artist was arrested at L.A.X. Airport for narcotics possession.

Yesterday though, 2 Chainz was simply promoting his album. The Playaz Circle co-founder announced its title, B.O.A.T.S. II, better known as Based On A TRU Story 2. The album follows 2012’s solo debut of the same title.

    1. This is going to be a banger. I smell another platinum single with Drake and one with Wayne as well. I can tell you which washed up rappers are not welcomed on this forthcoming masterpiece: Jay-Z, Pusha-T, Common, Lupe, Uncle Luke, The Dream.

      1. Are you kidding me? This shit will be wack. He won’t get any more plaques. Those niggas you named doesn’t need to be on this garbage as they can make better music with their eyes closed.

      2. kanye and jay-z washed up man thats fucked up lol also drake is alright when he does down to earth shit old school wayne was unfuckwitable now he’s really meh i say make a decent album and i might like 2 Chainz better not just some shitty single thats lyrically lame hell man 2 Chainz puts me to sleep with his bad raps #ROCKABYE

    2. 2chainz is a good rapper an all, but he needs to stop dickriding wack artists like Kanye West. West is a premadonna on the downside of his career and it’s best for 2Chainz career distances himself from all that.. But I expect a platnium record for his two albums!

      1. kanye on the downside of his career is still more of a career than lil wayne Sr. has ever had

      2. How is Kanye on the downside of his career? He’s the most creative artist in hiphop right now and every album he drops is a classic.

    3. Please no more albums by this wack fuck. It seems if you have no talent you get a recorddeal and can make albums.

    4. This is going to be crap just like French Montana and YMCMB.

Only dumb people listen to this shit. People like paris Hilton with no brains

    5. 2 Chainz worked harder than a motherfucker to get where he at. All yall broke ass haters can eat a dick. 2 CHAINZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      1. fuck outta here with that. he made 1 catchy song by himself then got a bunch of wayne and drake features to carry him for the next 2 years

    6. Uh. Jay Z. Washed up? that’s like pissing on a Corleone. Not as good lately maybe but respect the man!

    7. this nigga entertaining though im really feeling his swag its a lot beter then listening to boring ass j cole and boring ass nas

      1. i hope he was kiddin bout nas for all u internet trolls who just rides his dick. Cuz he def aint boring but damn J Cole? that dude has to b da lamest rapper in the game. literally puts me too sleep. garbage

    8. Great. More garbage music from this weak nigga formerly known as Tity Boi. 2 Chainz has to be the most overhyped artist ever. He can’t rap and he sounds like shit.

    9. Can’t wait!!! This will be one of the best selling and hottest albums of the year guaranteed…Fuck you haters!!! Bring that fire Chainz!!!

    10. ANOTHER CLASSIC ON THE WAY, BITCH ASS NIGGAS BEEN HATIN FOR A LONG TIME.

TELL ME THE NAME OF ONE ALBUM BESIDES ROSS WHO MADE IT THAT HUGE LAST YEAR. AND DON’T EVEN TRY TO MENTION KENDRICK LAMAR. KENDRICK IS NOT THAT BAD BUT HE IS OVERRATED AND 2 CHAINZ WOULD DESTROY HIM ANYTIME.

NO LIE – THAT SONG WILL BE REMEMBERED FOREVER LIKE MOZART SONGS – DRAKE IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS, JUST THE FACT THAT 2 CHAINZ MADE STUFF WITH YEEZY, DRIZZY AND WEEZY PROVES THAT HE’S A BEATS.

      1. ANOTHER WEED PLATE ON THE WAY, BITCH ASS NIGGAS BEEN DICKRIDING FOR A LONG TIME.

TELL ME THE NAME OF ONE ALBUM BESIDES ROSS WHO WAS THAT TRASH LAST YEAR. KENDRICK HAD THE BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR. HE WOULD DESTROY 2 CHAINZ ANYTIME.

NO LIE – THAT SONG WILL NEVER BE REMEMBERED FOREVER LIKE MOZART SONGS – DRAKE IS ONE OF THE WORST IN THE BUSINESS, JUST THE FACT THAT 2 CHAINZ MADE STUFF WITH YEEZY, DRIZZY AND WEEZY PROVES THAT HE’S WACK.

      2. calm down bro no need to be a stan and get all pissed i cant name another album that sold that well but i can actually say one that was better IMO Mayday Take Me To Your Leader Dope Album 2 Chainz Is Alright sometimes if he gets better lyrics i think he could actually be good

      3. Don’t speak to loudly the kendrick stans will boast about the nigga finally going platinum lol. They will probably come to save the dick they are riding. Ab is still the best in that tired ass group.

    11. “2 Chainz is bringing the new style, new fashion into rap game, I would like to collaborate with him.”
      – Kanye West (before their first collabo), multitalented genius

      “He’s definitely fresh.”
      – Jay-Z

“We offered him a deal as well but he chose Def Jam. Never mind, he’s still our nigga and show nothin but respect for YMCMB. One hunnid.”
      – Birdman, rapper, CEO of Cash Money records

“ANOTHER CLASSIC ON THE WAY, BITCH ASS NIGGAS BEEN HATIN FOR A LONG TIME.”
      – YEBO, master of internet trolling

“His chain game crazy. Burrrrrrr. GUWOP!”
      – Gucci Mane, king of chainz

“My brother, Playaz Circle forever, now he’s changing the game.”
      – Dolla Boy, longtime 2 Chainz partner

“He brought some syrup, then we made a track together.”
      – Kreayshawn, random racist girl

“King of gold chainz. My inspiration.”
      – Trinidad James, rapper

So who should I listen to? Haters and people with irrelevant opinions? Or talented artists with years of practice? I don’t think I have to answer that. This is going to be the best album of 2013.

      1. I Dont Know About Talented Kreayshawn isnt racist it’s her friend lol jay – z & Kanye talented trindad james gucci ok i guess never really cared for their stuff i cant say im excited for this i thought his beats were great his actual rap meh but then again he’s making money

      2. Funny one dude never mind the fucking haters his lyrics are not so struggle bars like people make him out to be. They are more than likely dickriding the lamar dude which is fine but I fcks wit 2 chains signed a random -Ethiopian guy.

      1. Let me guess your point, he is not lyrical he has struggle bars, and he sounds mainstream blah blah blah blah blah blah. The same recycled trash over and over again. I guess Lamar is garbage too, after all he makes mainstream music and talks about bitches and fucking, you are nothing but a ghetto hipster:D

    12. People get so distracted by the beats/instrumentals and catchy hooks that they can’t realize that these ‘talented artist’ make over-hyped garbage rap.

      1. Stop being a pretentious hipster its played out. You either like his music or not. I am not leaving comments on dry as J.cole or over-hyped kendrick lamar no why, because I do not like them they are trash to me, you hate him move on stop being a fucking hater.

      2. Hmm… defending 2 Chainz while dissing J Cole and Kendrick. This kid’s either 12 years old or has shitty music taste.

    13. how you gonna call your album based on a tru story 2 after you just lied to the media and your fans about getting robbed

      1. update: 2 Chainz changes name to They Took My 2 Chainz. New album called Based On A God Damn Lie

    14. What a lazy title. Just trying to ride the success of the original.

BOATS2 should actually be called Based on Bullshit. BOBS!

      2. Firestarter (feat. Ludacris) (produced by Lifted)

      1. 18. Scared of Guns ft. His Whole Crew
        19. 2 Lies ft. Rick Ross
        20. Tripping When I Run
        21. Feds Ain’t Watching But Tmz Is

    16. I understand the album title. I mean, If I just got shot at & was running for my life.. I’d want some “me time” as well. TRUUU.

    17. 2 chainz = second realest rapper in the game (after Gucci Mane).
Did you really see the footage? Robber was so scared, 2chainz had to run away from him.
French Montana might make good kebabs, but he will never sell almost-platinum like chainz…#TRUUUUEEEE CHAINZ

    18. uhuhuh. I’ve had enough of this boring ass site. uhuhuh. I’m retiring. Forever. uhuhuhuh. That’s not me laughing, that’s me crying as the real Beavis and Butthead kick my sorry ass. uhuhuh!

    19. All these over-hyped dudes like 2 Chainz, Ross, Meek Mill…they were hot for a summer. But their sound got old quick cuz they don’t switch up shit. No growth, no evolution. Nobody wants to hear that shit no more, it ain’t 2011. 2012 was a big year for hip-hop in terms of the new comers like Kendrick, Ab-Soul, Big Krit, etc… And now this year with A$AP And J Cole, it’s a new age in hip-hop. These old ass wannabe mafia thugs gotta go.

      1. Well put…As an old school head I truly feel that rappers today like Kendrick, Rocky, J Cole, Big Krit and the likes coming about these past couple years have restored my faith & interest in Hip Hop like I never believed possible.

      2. Asap mob is a great crew imo, they have a unique sound that fuses the south and the east and they can spit. I think people use hip-hop as more of a trend than anything else. They do not see it as music, but something to hop on because its cool. When artist sound the same, people bitch when they change up its what the fuck nigga what happened to the so and so you, nigga you changed but hey its all subjective.

    20. i guess i’ll give him props for having 8 or 9 songs by himself on his album unlike most of these new niggas

    21. “his last one aint go platinum in a year with even bigger singles this one will struggle to go gold”

I’m gonna actually agree with you on this. I think he’ll pull a Whiz Khalifa and see his second album do less just because he’s way overexposed.

    22. All the newest and most popular rappers include 2 chainz lil wayne rick ross rich homie quan young jeezy meek mill que drake big sean tyga kendric lamar future asaprocky lil boosie ask around lmost everyone knows this list
