Kodak Black was shot outside of a West Hollywood afterparty hosted by Justin Bieber on February 11. The Bill Israel artist was standing near The Nice Guy Italian restaurant talking to fellow rapper Gunna when shots rang out and he was hit in the leg.
On Saturday (February 19), Kodak shared a video clip to his Instagram Stories showing off his injuries, while sitting next to his shirtless friend who was apparently also injured.
“Whatever, n-gga take his licks,” he says while counting stacks of cash. “At the end of the day, n-gga ain’t hidin’.” He then points the camera toward his leg, which is bandaged up and settled in a brace.
Kodak Black was taken to a local hospital following the shooting in stable condition. Although it wasn’t immediately clear what sparked the fight, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said the victims were shot when they emerged from West Hollywood restaurant.
Yak’s attorney Bradford Cohen told NBC News the shooting started with an “unprovoked attack” on someone Kodak was hanging around with at the time. When Kodak and security came to their aid, “several shots were fired at them by an unidentified assailant.”
Cohen added, “Kodak was struck in the leg. It was not life-threatening, he will make a full recovery, and he is in stable condition.”
Kodak Black is currently on probation stemming from his 2019 weapons case. As one of Donald Trump’s final acts in the Oval Office, he commuted Kodak’s sentence after he was caught falsifying information on federal forms to buy four firearms from a Miami gun shop on two separate occasions.
In a video shared on January 21, Kodak Black celebrated being out of jail for over a year for the first time in his adult life — and he presumably hopes to keep it that way.
“Since I was 14 … I wasn’t never able to catch a whole year out on the streets,” he said. “To stay out celebrating a year of freedom, caught that bitch. Instead of being in and out of juvie, detention center program, gotdamn county jail, prison, shit like that … I see everybody doing the 10-year challenge so this is a big accomplishment for me.”
The king of prop money. Kodak was the one who admitted to its existance in the first place on one of his interviews. In this digital world, theres no reason to carry around all this money unless you hitting the strip club. And even then, most big strip clubs take digital payments for stacks to toss to the girls. I doubt his label or concert promoters pay him in cash. So why do all these rappers (and their nobody friends) carry so much cash ? Im not saying he broke im just saying its super suspect by todays standards. Yall social media people drink the kool aid instead of calling rappers out on this fake shit. That might be why so many rappers are getting killed. Gang members be thinking these stacks are real and they think rappers really walk the streets carrying 10-20 G’s that they flashed on the gram. Remember Pop Smoke yall. He had just done a photoshoot with his stacks earlier that day and slipped with the address.
How could anyone like this retard? It boggles my mind.
