The Trayvon Martin case took another turn Friday afternoon. George Zimmerman, the man accused of the second-degree murder of Martin after tracking down and killing the teenager in what he maintains was a case of self-defense, had his bond revoked by Judge Kenneth Lester. The Martin case has become a flashpoint of sorts within the Hip Hop community, since the Florida teen was killed in February.
On April 20, Lester set Zimmerman’s bond at $150,000. At the time, Zimmerman’s attorney, Mark O’Mara, told the court Zimmerman was “from a family of very short means.” However, less than two weeks earlier, Zimmerman had launched a website with a PayPal link and raised more than $200,000.
On Friday, Prosecutors filed a motion to revoke Zimmerman’s bond. Zimmerman was also accused of deceiving the court about his finances, and discussing his finances and his possession of a second passport (which he reportedly acquired two weeks after the shooting) in code words with his wife.
“The court was led to believe that they didn’t have a single penny,” prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda told ABC News. “If this [the money] wasn’t relevant to bond then why did they lie about it? I don’t know what other words to use besides that it was a blatant lie.”
Accoring to ABC News, recordings of conversations were released that featured Zimmerman and his wife, Shelly, speaking in code and reducing the amounts in their financial accounts by a factor of 1,000. Prosecutors believe the couple knew their jailhouse conversations were likely under surveillance.
Zimmerman now has 24 hours—he was originally given 48 hours starting Friday—to surrender. Since Zimmerman’s attorney previously waived the right to a speedy trial, he may theoretically spend the next one to two years in jail awaiting trial.
“We think what just transpired in the court room was very, very important,” Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump told various sources. “It was at the crux of the matter in the whole case. Judge Lester finding that he was dishonest is very important because his credibility is the most important thing in this entire case.”

The level of segregation really hit the hardest with the black community because they were the more vocal, I mean yes of course it was very awful, but I still can’t help but respect those that took such an honorable stand, It helped establish minority rights that in many ways we all were segregated against obtaining.
But its also not to say there was elements of different minorities during that time frame that were enduring and taking the exact same stand as the Black community, it just wasn’t as much as a focus point because the black community took it to the next level.

I get discriminated against constant. In my lifetime I’ve endured the struggles of what a black man would potentially endure outside the ghetto from inside the ghetto, I was born and raised in housing projects set up for lower class citizens. 3 members of my immediate family is Irish, the rest are mixed with black and mexican. Hell I got locked up once just for asking a high class white lady if she could give my moms car a jump. She called the cops trying to say that I tried to rob her, which was later after a few days behind bars cleared up. Messed up crap happens to us all, but I’ve endured a lifestyle of the worst of conditions, I’ve been shot at, I’ve been stabbed. We all got our struggles last thing I need is condemned on top of it for being slave master affiliated, when my people weren’t even US citizens during that time period, I still get tied and treated as such, that’s unfair as a black man getting treated wrong for being black.

Umm I was with my mom it was like 5am in the morning and her car wouldn’t start so I went to try to get somebody to jump it, Asked some snobby lady she got on the phone quick 5 minutes later laws cuffing me.
My mom spent the day explaining to them what was going on that I was just trying to help get her car started which 1 of the cops at the scene vouched for the event because he jumped the car for her. they talked with the person who reported me and after 2 days or so, they finally got the real story out of her that I never made any statement or put forth intent to rob her or did I violate any crime. So they let me out, point was I understand how it feels to be falsely accused of a crime and that was just 1 situation.
It was 5am the temperature was like 30 degrees, I just turned 18. What was I suppose to do? Sit and say sorry mom but you gonna have to freeze? Nah, I didn’t like that option so I tried to fix it, You know do what a man does? It might be okay for you to let your mom freeze and get sick but not me.
