Following the tragic death of 17-year-old Florida teen Trayvon Martin those in the Hip Hop community have paid very close attention to the case and the fate of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who killed the unarmed teenager.
Countless tributes for Martin have been released and have included songs from artists such as Mistah F.A.B., Mos Def, Plies, and GhostWridah. A number of tributes were released as an outlet to express condolences and ask for justice and according to the Washington Post justice may soon be served.
Although the specifics remain unclear the Washington Post reports that Zimmerman will in fact be charged in the shooting.
Unfortunately at this moment the whereabouts of Zimmerman are unknown. Hal Uhrig, Zimmerman’s former attorney, even informed reporters that he’s likely far from Sanford, Florida.

Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mark O’Mara, said that he would plead not guilty and would try to get him released from prison on bond. His hearing is currently taking place.
“I think he’s troubled by the fact the state decided to charge him,” O’Mara said. “I would think anyone charged with second-degree murder would be scared.”
