New Orleans native Juvenile is clearly revered in the Crescent City. He made a career with Cash Money Records and put the city on the map in a time where Hip Hop was branching out into other regions. For his contributions, the city of New Orleans is celebrating Juvenile in a big way.
On Tuesday (April 13), New Orleans mayor LaToya Cantrell invited Juvenile to City Hall and presented the key to the city to him. As a gift, Juvenile gave the mayor one of the industrial lamps from his Made By Juvie luxury furniture brand.
“In recognition of his contributions to the music industry and being known as one of the pioneers of Hip Hop music in the South,” read the plaque Juvie received with the key on it. “Known as a creative genius and homegrown talent that has made him a hip-hop legend and known worldwide.”
Juvenile took to his Instagram to share a photo of the plaque and thank mayor Cantrell for the recognition.
“Thank you to @mayorcantrell and New Orleans city for presenting me with the Key to my city I am truly honored,” he wrote in the caption.
The New Orleans rapper has started his own high-end furniture company, Made By Juvie, during the pandemic. The luxury brand focuses on custom lighting, tables, chairs and more items designed by the NOLA legend for any home, office or studio.
The majority of the materials Juvie uses to create the different items include “metals, wood, electricity and paint” according to the Made By Juvie website.
Lamps go from $199 to $5,200 while liquor dispensers run from $179 to $799 depending on the wall mounts or bar/table dispensers and the Transformer table listed on the site goes for a whopping $3,000.
Lil Wayne took your spot and the bag. Shouldn’t have bit the hand that feeds ya, I remember when you were yelling “no cash money” then you went back to Birdman anway right after that Rodeo stuff was a flop. Now you building legos and Wayne just copped a new mansion, damn son ain’t that a bich.
Serves him right. Don’t get mad at Birdman because you signed a contract and fail to read every word or get a lawyer to read it for you . Don’t get mad when Birdman rubbing his hands collecting money that contractually belongs to him
I think if your happy in life, you don’t give a fat fuck on wheels about what anyone else getting or doing or what you did or didn’t do. Where you at now in life and how you feel about it is what counts.
He got paid when he went back. Two grown men worked out their differences like men are suppose to. Besides, Lil Wayne went crawling back when Drake took the bag from him.
Rodeo didn’t flop. Was actually one of his biggest singles
