DMX’s Official Manager Shuts Down ‘RIP DMX’ Madness

An egregious #RIPDMX Twitter hashtag started making the rounds again on Thursday night (April 8), causing chaos around DMX’s current medical condition. Shortly after the madness ensued, DMX’s official manager Steve Rifkind issued a statement via Instagram.

“Everybody, please stop posting with these rumors,” Rifkind says in the clip. “DMX is still alive. Yes, he is on life support, but please. It’s not helping anybody by seeing these false rumors. Let the family relax for a night.

“You will be hearing a statement from the family sometime tomorrow. I’ve been with DMX for the past three years, so the only thing I ask is just stop with the rumors. He is still alive and he is still on life support.”

The Ruff Ryders legend underwent a battery of tests on Wednesday (April 7) to determine how much brain damage had been done during the 30 minutes he was without oxygen following a reported drug overdose and subsequent heart attack last week.

DMX's Family Reportedly Facing 'Difficult Decision' Following Brain Function Test Results

The Simmons family now has a difficult decision to make. The results of the tests arrived on Thursday (April 8) and showed DMX hasn’t regained any brain function over the last six days.

Rifkind previously stated “the family would determine what’s best from there,” so they’re likely meeting with doctors and specialists in order to determine the best route to take. HipHopDX will provide official updates when they become available.

    1. His soul has already moved on and I hope he found peace. His body is still here but that’s not a „life“ he deserves

    2. Never do drugs. Not even if someone you trust gives them to you. It’s a lifelong battle you won’t win.

    3. Hey everyone. Thanks so much for the support and love. Im on my way out but before I go does anyone want me to tell Aaliyah anything when Im in Heaven?

    4. He’s about as much “alive” as a fuckin zucchini at this point. Stay of that crack, kids!

    5. Artists are currently browsing their google drives for pics with DMX. Swizz and em are planning on how they are gonna cash in with a posthomorous album. Some have got their RIP tweets on stand-by in order to be the first to break the news.

Stay off drunks. Stop glorifying Drug rap

    6. the selfishness of others not seeing him go is what has him hooked up to those machines. life support. we say rest in peace because his heart is no longer beating on its own. according to the media the man is in a vegetative state. i’m not casting judgment nor do i stand with the jokes on here made by commenters because that to me is just misery, confusion, and self hate in human form. but the brother is gone. if i can recall i remember the houston family having whitney’s daughter on life support for over 3 to 6 months??? in my opinion that is madness. the truth is…the family had ample time (50 years worth) of helping save X’s life…especially his last run after his release from prison and that rehab. i shed tears of joy watching him on the versus and nore’s drink champs because i was so happy to see him in healthy and alive…and he’s so full of wisdom. i figured that he finally defeated that demon. it couldn’t be a money thing because swizz is up and X gave him his career SO how does a man fall back into the darkness with so much light around and within him??? its too late. Please do not do drugs. Do not drink. take heed to this. that shit took away stars and family members of ours.

    7. White people calling him a crackhead, now honoring his death. Paraistes. Not a single word about Paris hilton and lindsay Lohan being crackheads by white folks.

      1. Amy Winehouse was a white crackhead. And I am saying this as a white person. But you being a crackhead does not rule out that you can be a great singer rapper or whatever.

        1. Amy Winehouse wasn’t white, but j00ish. Even the statue of her has the star of david on her.

    8. I’m from Beaufort South Carolina and I have heard a lot about DMX I grew up listening to them I’m 40 years old he’s only 10 years older than I am I’m a white girl from the Island upper Donnelly black people and I’ve heard so much from drug overdose heart attack Covid vaccines but we don’t know really what’s going on are you still a private matter and it doesn’t help when you got the media jumping on the nearest bandwagon to figure out what really happened really to tell you the truth it’s nobody’s business if he passed away a legend died he help me through so many hard times with his music kind of like Tupac left die Aaliyah I grew up in a generation that was full of promise and from what I’ve seen we have took in a downhill spiral for the devil Well as far as I’ve noticed with the people of written on the constitution and people nowadays are either doing what Hollywood does best hiding behind the curtains curtains trying to act all innocent but in all actuality ask that’s paying the price and our children insane I don’t believe that he died of a drug overdose or a heart attack because this Covid vaccine that’s been out different ones have different effects for different people but nobody wants to hear that that be too far out reach I can tell you one thing I didn’t get it
