Eminem’s ‘Music To Be Murdered By: Side B’ Album Makes Billboard 200 Debut

The Nielsen Music/MRC Data numbers are in and as predicted, Eminem’s Music To Be Murdered By: Side B has landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, right behind Taylor Swift’s Evermore (No. 1) and Sir Paul McCartney’s McCartney III (No. 2).

According to Billboard, the deluxe version of Music To Be Murdered By reeled in roughly 94,000 total album-equivalent units in its opening week. Of that total, SEA units comprise 57,000 (up 761 percent, equaling 82.01 million on-demand streams of the 36 tracks), album sales comprise 33,000 (up 3,401 percent) and TEA units comprise 4,000 (up 3,868 percent).

Technically, that means the original Music To Be Murdered By has catapulted from No. 199 to the No. 3 spot after the updated reissue. (All versions of the album have been  combined for tracking purposes.) In addition to the initial 20 tracks, the project also boasts 16 additional songs with contributions from DJ Premier, Ty Dolla $ign, Dr. Dre and singer-songwriter Skylar Grey, among others.

Eminem's 'Music To Be Murdered By: Side B' Projected To End Record-Setting Billboard 200 Streak

Shady surprised dropped Music To Be Murdered By in January and the project landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 the following week with over 279,000 total album-equivalent units sold.

Although Shady tried to blindside his fans again with Side B, rumors of the project started to swirl a few days prior to its arrival. Excitement for another helping of Shady tracks reached fever pitch when producer and Dr. Dre affiliate Dem Jointz inadvertently revealed the cover art in an Instagram post.

Eminem’s last 10 albums have debuted at No. 1 on the chart, a Billboard record.

          1. ? hater. Prolly racist too huh? Mad that white boy Marshall is the best rapper to ever do it. That’s not an opinion either. Check his credentials, he’s living presidential. Always top of the charts for over 20 fuckin years. Who else can u say that about? Nobody

          2. Who’s dick is he riding? He is at the top of the rap game. Everyone else would be riding his. You sound like the hater you are.

      1. You realize that Eminem is the most selling artist WORLD WIDE, the last time I checked the whole world wasn’t white, smh fukin clown

          1. Actually, The Beatles are the most selling artists. Eminem is the 8th most overall, but #1 for rap/hiphop. Drake would be #2 with half as much sold as Eminem.

          2. Actually, the best selling artist would be The Beatles. Eminem would be the 8th most selling artist, but 1st when looking at rap/hiphop artists. Drake is #2 in rap/hiphop selling about half as much as Eminem. Overall, Drake is 15 on the list. So Eminem is in fact, the best selling artist in the rap game and no one else is close to him.

    1. That’s actually the best performing deluxe that Em have ever released… neither Relapse Refill or MMLP 2 deluxe sold that much or brought the original albums back up to number 3 overall and number 1 in Rap/Hip Hop album charts so Em takes the W and y’all take the L

        1. It is not a huge flop at all. This album is not a new studio album release, therefore Em’s #1 release streak is still intact. Furthermore, the sales from Side B get added to the original album & by doing so, it brought MTBMB from #199 on the billboard to #3, breaking a 50 year record. It is anything but a flop. Keep hating, haters.

          1. #1 song on the day this was released: All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey

            Gnat chart position: #41

            Almost his age!

        2. GTFOH This deluxe had 16 of which 3 were skits so it’s actually 13 tracks while Relapse Refill had 9 tracks that featured Drake, Kanye, Wayne, Dre and still didn’t take the album back to number 3 so check your facts before commenting dummy

          1. And streaming wasn’t figured into things back then (we’re talking another decade here). If you didn’t read the full article, it says that it counts streams from BOTH sides of the album (A and B). So that means he basically got credit for people still listening to the only song on that album anyone liked: Godzilla. Because he had a teenager completely rap circles around him on the chorus and completely make the song.

This was a full album release that he tacked onto the other album to get any sales at all. Look at who’s listening to it on YouTube. The standalone songs bombed completely out of the water. Only one charted at all and it was a low 41.

#1 on the day it was released: Mariah Carey- All I want for Christmas… is you 😉

      1. As you can see, small d—ked white males whose mother doesn’t even like them are the newest rap fans. Give them a hand. Their mom won’t (she’ll give you one though)

      1. Stfu. I’m from Botswana and I KNOW you trolling lol. The multiple “African support” references blew your cover.

      1. Dude that’s all you have to say? Do you understand his words? Or are you just butt hurt about him being white and killing the RAP GAME!!!!

        1. “My d–k length is the hair length of cher”
“Check my ball hair, make sure it’s all there”
“Suck my d— while I take a shit”

          Are you serious?

          1. Just like in the new album, he says something that directly speaks to you, “you’re gonna hate it now matter what, yet you still click on it” (These demons) MTBMB

        2. If you want to go that route, there are so many bars we can quote.
“I get to flippin’ the mic’ as a murder weapon/I’m poppin’ an extra clip, then cock and shoot, then I’m poppin’/Do not let me catch you slippin’/I will pop up and I’ll take a spot from you/I’ll get to doing what a leaky faucet do/But I ain’t talkin’ drip when I say that I’ll get the drop on you” – You Gon Learn (MTBMB 2020)

    2. “My penis is the size of a peanut, have you seen it? Fuck naw you aint seen it, its the size of a peanut!” -Eminem

      1. Carti album been hyped for 2 years now and only projected to do 170k. Whereas Em dropped a surprise album this year and did 280k. lmao

    3. The comments always trash
People so quick to say he’s the best hip hop ARTIST
When he regressed he can’t put out a good album to save his life probably since the Eminem show
Mmlp2 was ok, but shit ! He doesn’t rap about anything just rhyming words he’s the best at that
I can’t say he’s the best artist when it’s been 18 years since he delivered a classic album

      1. Clearly your a mumble rap fan . Your not the only one in these comment sections. Its okay your not the target audience. Its not for the casual listener. Its for the sharpest knives in the draw . Its a masterpiece from top to bottom hater s always hating . Game respects game

    4. M&m is depressed cuz he knows sales can’t validate shitty content from a 50 year old man m&m has no songs you can play at a block party or kickback with fam or friends. sales from a demographic that doesnt care for the genre outside of his music is depressing. everyone on top selling list have variety in catalogs not just unbumpable music for a dh fanbase

    5. @Winn Also, Eminem got beat by a white girl and a old man that mostly baby boomers listen to, so how are you blaming black folks again?

    6. Only Eminem’s stupidest fans keep making this about race. Black folks were the man ones bumping E in 1999 when he debuted with Dre.

Lord Jamar was just attacking Em’s black fanbase because he thought it would hurt, but everyone knew he was full of shit.

      1. This is really funny. Like you actually couldn’t be more wrong about eminem and his fans. One thing you have to realize is an eminem fan is not a hiphop fan in 2020, most people love eminem for the way he raps and a lot of his fans aren’t even aware of the politics of race in hiphop. And its really ironic you brought up lord Jamar, he straight up said the contrary of what you are saying, and it wasn’t because he was trying to get eminem fans mad, it was one for publicity, and two because lord Jamar wasn’t alright with people saying a white man was the best rapper. So actually, prodomenetly the average eminem fan hardly cares about hiphop and eminems detractors are the ones that make it about race. Eminem has even said it multiple times across his last 3 albums, he is trying to be the best rapper in terms of skill, and thats all his fans care about also.

        1. That’s been the issue since day 1. Eminem fans love Em not hip hop. So they think he’s the only man alive that can cleverly rhyme words, lol. It’s actually pretty funny. The only claim Em has to the throne is his sales and we all know why his sales are so strong, even he does. I enjoy vintage Em and love to hear when he is in rare form, it’s great. But…..his catalog is just awful.

        2. Strange generalisation. I am a fan of all types of Hip Hop from Snoop to Black Thought to Kool Keith to Lil Jon to Eminem. If you don’t like Em, that’s fine, but it doesn’t mean Hip Hop fans don’t like him.

    7. Pre-Order ‘Adjust The Limelight’ By Deveondi on Amazon and iTunes - Hip Hop Music - www.deveondi.com/music says:

I am not surprise. He is a great artist.

    8. LMAO look at all the comments! Y’all keep forgetting that we’re talking about the best selling artist in Rap’s history, all his albums including MTBMB have gone platinum. This will never be achieved by any rapper ever. Even in the young age streaming era, Em is the 4th most listened to artist from all genres on Spotify this goes along with the billions of views until now on YouTube. Dude is still selling out arenas and even stadiums with no opening acts. So what’s the argument for? It’s just a deluxe edition of an already platinum album.

    9. I can always count on this site for constant Eminem coverage. That man hasn’t made a good album in almost 20 years, ?. Yes, he can rap, but his stans are such casual rap fans. The songs are garbage and they swear no one is near his ability. Stop it. The list of rappers that are lyrical that can’t make great songs is a mile long. He will always sell and get award nominations however, that’s just the game.

    10. I’m not no fuccin stan I’m a Crip from LA been listening to hip-hop my whole life Eminem is the greatest people like you and Snoop Dogg hating on the goat

    11. Eminem and company never cease to amaze me. For the most part it’s mind blowing because he’s always been a battle rapper with the ability to make great songs.
