Killer Mike Explains Why He Met With Georgia Governor Brian Kemp

Run The Jewels star Killer Mike has been heavy in activism for many years, and sometimes that means meeting with opposing political parties to find a greater common ground for the community.

Such was the case in a recent meeting Mike had with the Republican Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp. Gov. Kemp shared photos of the Wednesday (September 9) sit-down and said they’d discussed human trafficking in Georgia and how the COVID-19 pandemic had affected small businesses and the music industry.

“Today, Marty and I had a great meeting with @KillerMike,” he wrote. “We discussed how small businesses and the music industry are weathering the pandemic, the value of our skilled trade workers, and our fight to end human trafficking in Georgia. We look forward to seeing him again soon!”

The Run The Jewels rapper was quickly met with criticism for his decision to meet with the Governor, but he stood tall as he responded to dozens of tweets and reaffirmed his mission goes beyond the optics.

“After I sought counsel from Community activists That I know and have worked with over 20 yrs, black judges and lawyers, black Biz leaders and my neighbors I absolutely did,” Mike confirmed to one critic when asked if he’d met with Kemp for his community.

“Absolutely,” Mike said in response to another who incredulously asked if he’d really met with him. “I pay taxes in Georgia and own business there. I’m checking up on my dollars At work. I also meet with my city council member, state rep and mayor.! I suggest all Georgians do the same.”

Mike is pictured in the photos wearing a shirt that reads, “plot, plan, strategize, organize, and mobilize,” and he referenced it when asked whether he thought the meeting would even resolve anything.

“Only time will tell,” he said. “In the meantime, I plan to keep doing what was on that t-shirt I wore. We all must!”

    1. Way to go for the people out there in Georgie showing Biden that they aren’t a monolith. Standing round of a applause.

    2. Killer Mike u dumb af. U think u special cus u a celeb. U think u influence policy lmmfao. Smmfh. U seriously think they gaf about your words. U dumbass. U being taken pix so he can say “look I have a black friend” . U fkng dumbass. But ur ego so fkn big u think u a single individual can influence public policy, more. Than 300,000 voters who he illegally took off voting rolls. Y u think he cancelled their right to vote ? Cus 300,000 black voters have influence . Unlike u. Dumbass celeb. All excited ova photo op with white supremacists.

      1. Very well thought out. What this guy said. People are not mad cause the guy that won was white. They are mad because the person who won isn’t black. Who cares that the the person lost by 50,000 votes. That’s voter suppression! Well done for this very well worded and thought out piece you wrote here. Printing it out as we speak to put on my fridge.

      2. @Dumbass Mike, He didn’t illegally take all those voters off the rolls.
Many states have purging laws when they go through their voter roll and remove people who moved, died or have been inactive for years. If you are dumb enough to believe a Governor needs to help Trump win, you have your head up your a$$. Biden is tanking his own campaign just by talking, and nobody wants Kameltoe Harris. Trump would win in a historical landslide and the Demtards know this. Why do you think they bribed the post office? Why do you think we have the Plandemic? It’s all about the election. It’s about cheating. Massive voter fraud and confusion coming.

    3. Who cares what this fat racist does or says? He’s nothing more than a useful idiot for the jooish financial elite’s agenda to incite race war against whitey.

    4. I think at this point BLM and their comrades in ANTIFA have done more damage to the black and immigrant communities than Covid. Talk about that, fat Mike.

    5. All of you that that are expressing disappointment in this man are idiots, you do not know how the system works, if there were concerns about this man stealing votes then why not protest instead of downing a man that is taking a proper approach to better his community, so you rather weather the 6 year storm of his term while letting your community suffer or put this man to work, this is politics people and we dont always have to agree with it and sit around complaining like a bunch of Karens
