OG Ron C, an acclaimed deejay in screw music, has teamed up with Candlestick, Slim K and OVO to release Choppin Ain’t The Same via ChopNotSlop Entertainment.

The release chops Drake’s new album, Nothing Was The Same.

Drake’s official album, which was released September 24, features appearances from Jay Z, Sampha and Jhene Aiko. The official full-length project hit #1 in Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart in its first week and is projected to land at #2 in its second week.

OG Ron C is acclaimed for his work doing a version of the Chopped & Screwed style of Rap music that DJ Screw popularized. In 1997, OG Ron C worked with Michael “5000” Watts as the pair co-founded Swishahouse Records. The imprint released projects by several artists, including Slim Thug, Chamillionaire and Paul Wall.

In August, OG Ron C and Candlestick teamed up to release Purple Grail, a chopped version of Jay Z’s Magna Carta…Holy Grail.
