Houston impresarios OG Ron C and DJ Candlestick present “Purple Grail,” a chopped and screwed mixtape inspired by Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grailreleased through ChopNotSlop Entertainment. “This is one of the best projects me and DJ Candlestick have done so far in our careers, all the way from creativity to how technically tight and neatly put together to actually enjoying the songs Jay Z put together,” says OG Ron C in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “I think the world will agree. Cups up for this one, fasho!” The cover art was hand drawn by ArtByFossco.
In 1997, OG Ron C and Michael “5000” Watts co-founded the Houston-based record label, Swishahouse Records. Swishahouse released projects by Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Mike Jones, Slim Thug, among others. Ron C is currently the road manager for Houston-rapper, Riff Raff.
